Construct Comment
Construct 1 Senaida demonstrates a wealth of knowledge as it pertains overall to the field of school psychology.
She has displayed levels of expertise in child development, including trauma, disabilities, and
particularly meeting behavioral and mental health needs of students. She keeps abreast of current
trends and research and shares this information with colleagues and school staff. Senaida utilizes a
breadth of data sources in her evaluation reports, including observations, interviews, testing and
record review. While I have not yet seen progress monitoring data as part of a reevaluation or initial
evaluation report, this type of data will strengthen both reports as well as teams' abilities to engage
in data-based decision making. Senaida has a strong foundational knowledge of special education
laws and procedures, and she has quickly acclimated to special education procedures in Lawrence.
Construct 2 Principals report include positive interactions with students. Senaida has actively participated in her
buildings' mental health teams and has provided tools and ideas to strengthen the supports these
teams provide to the building. She has taken an active role in working with both special and general
education staff and definitely understands tiered systems of support.
Construct 3 Senaida has stepped into leadership roles of her buildings' special education teams and has done
this with great poise. Senaida is an effective communicator and she eagerly consults with a variety
of staff and engages in collaborative problem-solving.
Construct 4 I have always and consistently found Senaida to be professional in her interactions with colleagues,
staff, and parents. She has sought out professional development opportunities and appears eager
to share her knowledge, whether this be with school psych cohorts, back in her buildings or at a
conference. I especially appreciate Senaida's contributions to our school psychologist meetings. I
encourage her to voice her opinion and provide another perspective. I have also found Senaida to
be quite reflective of her practice. She seeks constructive feedback and utilizes this feedback to
make adjustments as appropriate.
