This Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP) will help achieve the reasons for exhibited persistent and severe
behavior that 1) interferes with the student's learning and the learning of others and 2) warrants
interventions to redirect the targeted behavior positively. The BIP will seek to find the appropriate
replacement behaviors for Kaedo by utilizing analysis records from the functional behavioral assessment.

General Academic Issues:

1. Lacks the ability to perform the expected behavior.
2. Kaedo needs frequent practice in behaving as per the teacher's recommendation.
3. Requires more assistance in providing a good knowledge base for his behaviors.
4. Cannot be applied across settings.

General Communication Issues:


1. Request assistance where necessary through proper replacement behavior.
2. Request a break when he finds himself in a challenging situation.
3. Effectively indicate the issues that are bothering him.
4. Severe cases should be well communicated instead of misbehaving in class.

Intervention Strategies
1. Environment and Circumstances

Staff Responsibility: provide an educational environment setting for the student to feel more comfortable in.

Student Responsibility: make requests to the teacher when he faces shortcomings rather than disruption.

2. Curriculum and Instruction

Staff Responsibility: follow the recommendation as regulated by the psychoeducation approach.

Student Responsibility: follow instructions from teachers and parents and raise any issues as per the challenges he
faces.

3. Other Strategies or Positive Supports

Staff Responsibility: peer engagements and positive communication with the student.

Student Responsibility: perform replacement behaviors such as raising hands rather than disrupting the learning
process.

Desired Replacement Behavior


Replacement behavior will include polite disruptive behavior such as raising hands, patience, and following the teacher's
instructions. Repeated assessment and motivation for the student will help him master the target behaviors. Mr.
Smithson will intervene with this replacement behavior.

Rewards and Motivators


The student will receive rewards and praise when he conducts himself accordingly. This strategy will motivate the
student to perform the best behaviors. The reward could be in terms of other students clapping or singing him a praise
song.

Consequences

1st occurrence—hitting other students will result in to point reduction assessment on his conduct reward.

2nd occurrence—walking unnecessarily in class will result in punishment and also point assessment reduction

3rd occurrence— self-injuries would constitute more learning tests. That is either way; the student would benefit from
either occurrence.

Crisis Plan

Through the school psychiatrist's help, the teacher will acquire the necessary information on dealing with critical
Kaedo's maladaptive behaviors if it comes to a difficult situation.
Monitoring of Behaviors (How the behaviors will be assessed and evaluated):
What data will be collected: Behavioral conduct data trends that may affect the learning disruptions.

How it will be collected: Regular interviews on the child's progress observations.

Who will collect it: Case Manager, Mr. Smithson

How will parents be notified of progress: through teacher to parent communication forums such as school diary
feedback.
