Engage Phase
Classroom discipline refers to the strategies a teacher uses to manage student behaviors
and attitudes during instructional time. A teacher who uses consistent discipline strategies
exhibits more effective classroom management than an inconsistent teacher. Students can
maintain their academic attention by being disciplined in the classroom. This gradually teaches
kids alternative methods of concentration. A diligent student is capable of maintaining his
objectives in mind and giving his work high importance.

ABSTRACTION
Classroom management is one of the most essential components of effective teaching. The steps
teachers take to keep their classrooms functioning effectively throughout the school year so that
their students can succeed are known as classroom management. Classroom management
techniques include putting up a neat and orderly environment, being explicit about expectations,
and giving lessons that keep pupils paying attention and concentrating.
Positive discipline
Students act out in many different ways, which affects both their own capacity for learning and
that of those around them. The following are some of the most prevalent categories of
disciplinary issues:
Students who speak and behave disrespectfully toward adults and their peers.
Defiance is when students blatantly disobey adults or rules.
Bullying: When pupils repeatedly frighten others, frequently to boost their own
confidence
Students who act aggressively may hurt others physically or verbally
Some of the common causes of disciplinary problems are problems at home, disabilities,
personal issues, perceptions, and can also be a teacher factor.
1. The teacher factor – the teacher can be a potent factor in causing disciplinary problems.
The teacher’s personal characteristics and his holistic scholastic qualifications
2. Problems at home – issues and stress at home are major reason for students to act out in
class.
3. Peers – students who are bullied by their peers are also prone to discipline issues in the
classroom
4. Perception – if your student feels you don’t like him, you’re not protecting him or
supportive of him, he could become a discipline problem in the classroom.
5. Disabilities – children with learning disabilities can also sometimes be disruptive in class.
6. Personal issues – students may also be disruptive for personal reasons, relating partly or
mainly to their own personal problems.
As a result, student misconduct on this scale doesn't necessarily arise from ineffective classroom
management but instead has external causes. Nevertheless, the ability of the students to perform
and think critically can be trained during the learning process.
Discipline strategies
Thus, discipline is important in order to maximize learning and minimize disruption in enforcing
classroom standards and building patterns of cooperation. Moreover, collaborative activities help
in disciplinary and cognitive development of a student in the learning process. Various ways and
method can be applied in order to improve the student’s critical thinking and behavior.
