management ensure proper classroom management and discipline.
Analyse the different elements of personal/physical classroom management and answer the following question?
Just like what we have discussed on the first episode, he environment where learning begins pave a way in
teaching and learning process. Because we need to ensure a place that is conducive to learning. We need to check into
the physical aspects of the classroom management because it affect students ability to learn. Ensuring students are
comfortable and relax that do not distract the way they learn. Physical aspects of the classroom management
contributes to students progress and performances.
REFLECT
1. What does this statement mean to you as a future teacher? Explain. “No amount of good instruction will
come out without effective classroom management.”
The statement above means a lot in managing a classroom. As a future teacher, I believe that an effective
classroom management and good instruction is interrelated with each other. The other one becomes useless if the other
is not successfully implemented. I can say that a poor classroom management will teach the students to not value every
instruction you employ. They will learn that they are not necessary to follow. While classroom routines are the backbone
of a classroom, classroom management is essential and an ideal in creating an environment that foster kindness,
productivity, discipline, engagement as well as enhancing students skills.without effective classroom management, it will
form chaos, disruptive behavior that eventually affects both teachers and learners. Classroom management is not just
implementing rules, it enhances the learning and contributes to the betterment, orderly, organized classroom
instruction.
2. What are your plans in ensuring effective classroom management?
be a role model to your class because it will reflect your way of motivating students. You need to address
bad behavior immediately in order to avoid making it more disruptive. Make a good relationship among students. It will
make them comfortable and productive. Give rewards or praise to student’s work and achievements, showing that you
value their work means a lot for them. Do not forget to establish rules and maintain authority in the class. You’re still
their teacher to respect and give boundaries, most important is observe the personal aspects of the classroom. Avoid
punishing the whole class even if others do not engage in it. It will surely makes a gap between you and your students.
Do not be toxic and treat your students like as your own child, build a classroom that is child-friendly and free from
distractions. Consider also involving the class in formulating rules.
ACTIVITY 7.2 Demonstrating knowledge of positive and non-violent discipline in the management of learner
behaviour.
OBSERVE
Observe the classroom management strategies that your Resource Teacher employs in the classroom. You may also
conduct an interview to substantiate your observation.
Check () observed, put an (X) if not observed and O for no opportunity to observe.
Analyse the checklist you have accomplished and answer the given questions:
1. How many strategies were employed by the Resource Teacher? Did these contribute to better classroom
management? Explain your answer.
There are some strategies observed in discussing. Indeed it contributes to an organized and orderly
classroom in the reason where it enhances or facilitate learning and discipline. It minimizes the time where distraction
occurs during the teaching and learning process. It provides good instruction, good communication and behavior among
learners, such as engagement, respect, fairness and appropriate expressions.
2. What were not used by the Resource Teacher? Were these important? What should have been used instead?
Explain?
Based on the checklist, I think most of the indicator were not used by the resource teacher. In some
instance they are important yet the teacher did not employ it because some of these takes time to implement especially
numbers 14 and 15. I think it is not necessarily to include it on our daily routine because it takes time to do it. Other
assessment like short quizzes, activity can be because it will be easier for you to construct and for the students to
accomplish and at the same time it doesn’t take so much time to check it.
REFLECT
As a future teacher, reflect on the observations then answer the given questions.
1. What classroom management strategies do I need to employ to respond to diverse types of learners?
As a future teacher, first thing to consider is to develop your sensitivity to respond to student’s needs. Next
is reflect about your student’s interest, traits, cultural understanding and the way they learn. Assigning a group where it
helps them to collaborate with each other. Addressing their bad behavior as well as reminding them that even if they
are differ with each other they need to consider someone else’s feelings and perception. Build a respect towards peers
and teachers. Most important is, be a role model to your students because they learn on what they see rather on what
they just hear. Build a strategy where everyone can benefit that does not set barriers among learners because we can’t
deny the fact that discrimination still exist even if you set rules. Employ activities that are engaging and collaborative to
maximize the opportunity.
