OVERVIEW

WH AT IS KIVA ?

Kiva, an application that books services for old-age people who need assistance in medical, home, and fixing up the day-to-day task.

It provides personal assistance in doing day-to-day tasks and books everything with the safety and comfort of their home.

It can also be used by sons or daughters of old-age people who find less space for assisting their parents in day-today work and book services

for them.

THE DE SIGN PROCESS

I divided the project into three major part

First, I conducted initial research to determine problems that old people face in day-to-day life, the impact of pandemic lockdown over them
Second, after understanding their problems, I ideated to give their issues different headers and distinguish each header based on the demand of the user
Finally, based on those results, I designed and produced final mockups of the app.

n research, I found 10 people who fit into a target audience to interview and asked them open-ended questions regarding their day-to-day experience while

going to medical checkups, home care for themselves and their partner, and other routine work.

Based on the user research, I created two user personas for target audience (old-age people and working people). It would help anchor my design decisions
throughout the process.

Bio
Abhishek is working as a software engineer in a fast growing startup.

His jobs revolves around full time dedciation of 8-9 hours in a weekday.

But due to covid he is in work from home mode where he lives with

his parents who are in their 70s and 80s.

After seeing them struggling in day-to-day works and missing

medical , he tries to help me but couldn’t due to his office commitments and

workloads.

Therefore, he looks fix their problems by finding some assistance for their work.

Goals

with care and comfort

The balance between homme life with parents and work need to be fixed in a way his parent shouldn’t suffer at all

Bio
Anand Swami , a retired chef from Taj Hotel lives in Dehradun with her wife. His childrens are settled in USA and

he lives alone with the wife in the house.

His day started with doing house chorus and ends up doing the same. Also, due to her medical surgery he needs to

regualrly visit physiotherapist for checkups and training. He looks to get some assistance in doing bank works, day to day window

shopping as well as go for sprititual travel and medical trips more often with her wife. But due to their health and ofther issues they can’t do

much without soeone.

Also, he need someone with proper credibitlit to do so becuase they don’t ;ike asking for help with neighbours and conned by strangersa while

taking help.

SUMMARY

Ilearnt the importance of keeping user’s pain points always in front and center of the design. Curating and creating screens based on user’s feedback increases potential of the design to solve
target problems.

FUTURE SCOPE:

Work on feedbacks to resolve user’s pain points effectively.

Make it accesible for handicaped audience (manage booking for special aids).

Booking through single-tap feature and previously booked sessions record for future use.
