3 PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS:
3.1 Review and become familiar with entire procedure before beginning Calibration Process.
WARNING
3.2 Connect test equipment to appropriate power source. Set all POWER switches to On and allow warm-up as
required by manufacturer.
3.3 Throughout this procedure set the TI functions as follows: Press TI right or left arrow key to move cursor on
display, press CHANGE key to set TI for selected function and then press ENTER key.
3
T.O. 33K6-4-3011-1
3.5 Perform only that portion of the Calibration Process applicable to TI being calibrated.
3.6 Make copies of Table 3 to use as worksheets.
4 CALIBRATION PROCESS:
NOTE
Unless otherwise specified, verify the results of each test and take corrective
action whenever the test requirement is not met, before proceeding.
CAUTION
Before hooking up the Input Adapter Cable P/N 8998, verify that its polarity is
A=LOW(-) and B=HI(+). Some P/N 8998 cables may be reversed. If hooked up
backwards, and the 28 VDC Signal is applied, the screen on the TI will go dim.
The technician will have about 5 seconds to disconnect the power before damage
is done to the TI. Switch polarity for correct operation and apply power.

4.4.1.9 The TI will display a range of odd harmonic peaks from the 1st (fundamental) to the 51st. For each odd
harmonic, record the peak of the fundamental and the 2 peaks to the left and the 2 peaks to the right of the fundamental.
4.4.1.10 Use the TI arrow keys to move the cursor to peak of the 1st Harmonic (fundamental).
4.4.1.11 Ensure the TI display frequency readout indicates the frequency in Column C of Table 3.
NOTE
The TI must indicate the exact frequency as listed in Column C of Table 3. The
TI must indicate the frequency as listed in column A, B, D, E ±0.1 Hz.
4.4.1.12 Record the TI Amplitude Readout (in ips) at the top of the display in column C of the copy of Table 3.
4.4.1.13 Press the TI left arrow key once to move the cursor to the first peak left of the fundamental. Record the
amplitude (in ips) in column B of the copy of Table 3.
4.4.1.14 Press the TI left arrow key once to move the cursor to the second peak left of the fundamental. Record the
amplitude (in ips) in column A of the copy of Table 3.
4.4.1.15 Press the TI right arrow key to move the cursor to the first peak to the right of the fundamental. Record the
amplitude (in ips) in column D of the copy of Table 3.
4.4.1.16 Press the TI right arrow key to move the cursor to the second peak to the right of the fundamental. Record the
amplitude (in ips) in column E of the copy of Table 3.
4.4.1.17 Repeat steps 4.4.1.8 through 4.4.1.16 for the remaining values listed in the Harmonic Peak column of Table 3.
4.4.1.18 Calculate and record the True Amplitude of each harmonic peak in the copy of Table 3 using the following
formula:
4.4.1.19 Verify the True Amplitude of each Table 3 harmonic peak is within the values listed in the True Amp ips
column of Table 3.
