This document defines the methods to be use to ensure that the works to be conducted at
site are in compliance with the approved designs and approved materials
This document applies to the inward site inspection, installation and inspection methods to be
adopted for the FCU installation.

4. Inspection of FCU.
5.1 Material:
1. The raceway system material such as FCU should be according to the site requirement and
in accordance with the approved shop drawing and approved material submittal It should be
noted that the materials used in this work area are of valuable nature and that they shall be
stores in a secure location, and access to these materials shall be strictly controlled.
2. All materials delivered to the site will be first to be inspected by the store in-charge / site
in-charge. All materials should be check in accordance with the site requirement, approved

design and material qualification. It must also be free from any damage caused during the
delivery to site. Delivery documentation shall be checked for completeness. Defective or
damage materials shall either be returned to the supplier’s facility or stored on site at a
suitable quarantine location.
5.2 Tools:

5.4 Preparation:
1. Prior to installation of FCU the supervisor and foreman will verify and ensure that all the
safety requirements have been complied with and are in place.
2. The supervisor will verify that all relevant approved latest revisions of shop drawings,
technical submittals, inspection and test plans are in the work place for installation reference.
This also includes installation procedures.
3. The supervisor and foreman will inspect all the materials delivered to the work place and
ensure that these are the required materials and also for damage or defect. Materials found
not to be as per requirement or with damage or defect will be set aside. These will be
properly labeled and returned to the warehouse.
4. The supervisor and foreman will examine surfaces to receive equipment for compliance
with installation tolerances and other required conditions, as described in the installation
requirement. Installation will not proceed until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.

5. All installation / Construction / Testing works shall be carried out in compliance with the
project specifications.
1. Unless otherwise specified, all installation shall be according approved shop drawings and
contract specifications.
2. Drawing plans, schematics, and diagrams indicate general location and arrangement of
FCU’s.
4. Transfer the FCU’s from the stores to the working area, taking into account the make,
model, capacity, and tag number, this will ensure the correct FCU is installed at the correct
location.
7. Verify the locations of the thermostats and other exposed control sensors with approved
drawing and room detail before installation. Install devices at heights approved by the
architect.
8. Lift the FCU in place by means of Lifter, chain block or by personnel (depending on weight,
size and location).
9. Ensure all the vibration isolators are installed as-per the approved drawings and or the
manufacture’s recommendation. Check the level of the unit and firmly tighten the support
fixtures.
10. Attached and fix identification labels on the equipment once the installation is completed.
Connections:
1. Connect the ductwork to the unit cabinet using flexible connections of full size of the
equipment and ductwork connections to avoid the transfer of vibration into the building
structures as specified.
2. Connect the piping requirements as specified. Drawings indicate the general arrangement
of the piping, fittings, and specialties. Connect the piping as follows:
A.) Install piping adjacent to the machine to allow service and maintenance.

B.) Connect piping to fan coil unit factory hydronic piping package. Install piping
package if shipped loosed.
C.) Connect condensate drain to indirect waste pipe. Install condensate trap of
adequate depth to seal against the pressure of fan. Install cleanouts in piping at
changes in direction.
5.5 Commencement:
2. The delivered material shall be in accordance with the approved design / approved shop
drawing and approved material.
4. All delivered material that does not conform to the approved submittal and does not
conform on the mentioned above shall be returned to the point of supply or stored on the
site at a suitable quarantine store.
1. All materials used on the project shall be brand new and of high quality. Obtain approval
of all manufacturers from the Consultant and the Owner.
2. "New" is defined as newly manufactured, "state of the art," tested and proven item of
Equipment. Items which have been held in stock for any extended period of time by
either the Manufacturer or the Supplier will be rejected.
IT PLAN:
INSPECTION POINTS:
1. During installation, ensure that the ductworks complies with the specification
requirements and notify the main contractor / consultant in advance at least 24 hours
before inspection must be made.
2. The QA/QC Engineer shall evidence the inspection of the works in progress by
preparing for each completed stage or deemed appropriate area, on the “Inspection
Request Form”.

3. The “Inspection Request Form” shall define the stage of works or area completed and
shall further summarize the various installations inspected and found to be acceptable by
the company.
INSPECTION.
1. The Engineer shall, at the time of completing the installation, inspect the works so
completed and produce a list of any defects (snag list) that he may recognize as requiring
rectification.
2. The Engineer shall ensure that all such defects are rectified in a timely manner.
4. The list of defects produced by the Engineer shall constitute evidence of the inspection of
the completed installation.
5. The Engineer shall respond in a timely manner to any preliminary snag lists that may be
issued by the Client’s authorized representative prior to his final inspection of the
installed works.
7. The Engineer shall ensure that all defects advised by the client’s authorized
representative, when conducting his final inspection of the installed works, are rectified in
a timely manner.
2. All personal protective equipment shall be used as appropriate according to the nature
of the job.
3. Housekeeping shall be of good standard and all cut pipes and debris shall be removed.
7.0 Responsibility.
The Project Manager is the overall responsible person for the process of implementation of
the works. The Project Engineer will be responsible for all construction activities at the site
and will directly supervise through erection supervisor/skilled foremen at the work site. The
Site Engineer will be responsible for arranging and controlling the inspection and testing
activities.

Furthermore, it is the responsibility of each individual employed in the project to take due
care to ensure their own personal safety and that of their work colleagues.
Make Contractor protect all mechanical & electrical works from damage. Keep all equipment
dry and clean at all times.
Protect the buildings and structures from damage due to carrying out of this work.
