Section 1 General Description

Before operating the machine, read this manual carefully to obtain through understanding of the
machine instruction.
Note that the contents of manual may change without prior notice.
1. Machine Installation Place
Select the installation place, taking the following into consideration.
(1) Required machine installation space is shown in Section 2 (Machine Layout Drawing).
(2) The foundation must be rigid enough to support the machine’s weight.
Mass of major units AG400L:
Machine and power supply: 3,800 kg. (3,950 kg. for CE-TYPE)
Dielectric tank (include water supply): 1,000 kg.
Mass of major units AG600L:
Machine and power supply: 4,950 kg. (5,200 kg. for CE-TYPE)
Dielectric tank (include water supply): 1,400 kg.
(3) The machine installation place must be isolated from vibration and shock generated by other
equipments.
(4) Depending on the installation environment, measures for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
must be taken.
The appropriate specifications of the shielded room differ depending on the error occurrence
conditions, operations environment, required floor space, etc. If a shielded room is necessary,
contact a specialized firm.
(5) The surroundings of machine installation place must be free from airborne dust.
(6) If necessary, provide a proper radio wave shield room.
The specifications of shield room construction depend on the surroundings of plant, contractor.
(7) The shop’s floor will not get slippery if it is wet.

(8) Place with less temperature fluctuation.
Recommended temperature for high precision machining :
20 to 25°C with temperature fluctuation less than 1°C
No sharp temperature fluctuation (1°C maximum in an hour).
The machine must not directly be exposed to direct sunlight,
ventilation from an air conditioner or fanned air from other equipment.
Available temperature range: 10 to 35°C.
(9) Humidity : 30 to 75% (without dew condensation).
