Career Objective

Determined Drama undergraduate seeking to build creative, technical and operational skills
through practical work experience with a theatre company. Team player and will use creative
and organizational skills for the success of the company.

Experience

Dec 2010 – Jan 2011 Cherwell Theatre Company Assistant Stage Manager

During the company’s production of Pinocchio, my role as ASM included:

 Taking messages and phone calls for the stage manager.
 Being a source of communication between the stage manager and other members of
the company, for example costume, technicians and actors.
 Provided a support for the stage manager and the director so that their focus could
remain on the more important parts of the production.
 Adapting quickly and efficiently to other roles within the company to enable me to
assist others when needed. For example, taking over the role of marketing for the day
in order to sell tickets.

June 2010 – Aug 2010 Cherwell Theatre Company Actress and co-writer

During the company’s street performance in Parsons St in Banbury, my role included:

 Writing scenes that were relevant to the piece as a whole and could potentially be
used in the final performance.
 Dedicating myself as an actress in the piece as well as writing parts of the script.
 Communicating and being lead by the director.

25th Nov – 30th Nov 2008 ScenePool Productions Assistant Technician and
Stage Manager

During this week ScenePool produced a series of theatre performances. My role included:
 Assisting the head technician with lighting and sound with a fairly high knowledge
and understanding of how the sound and lighting board work.
 Preparing the stage so that it was safe and fully prepared for both performers and
performances.
 Ensuring that each performer/company was fully aware of the schedule and had
everything that they required for their performance.
  Being a source of communication between the producers and performers.
Employment

I feel that my wide range of additional experience, although may not be specifically within
theatre, have helped me to develop skills as an individual and within a team that have helped
me to further my skills in a professional theatre environment. These skills include
communicating with a range of people, working within a team in a busy stressful
environment and having the initiative to carry out duties quickly and efficiently.

August 2010 – September 2010 Wardington House (Nursing home), Wardington

General assistant. General duties involve serving food and drinks to the residents as well as
engaging them in activities with the staff as well as other residents. The main priority was to
ensure that the residents were at maximum safety and comfort at all times.

July 2010 – September 2010 Accessorize Monsoon, Banbury

Shop floor assistant specifically for Accessorize. Duties involved customer service, till
service, stock handling and re-pricing of store items. I also worked throughout the summer
sale which required me to be able to work within a team and under pressure quickly and
efficiently.

November 2005 – September 2008 Tescos Extra, Banbury

Multi-skilled shop floor assistant on the Dairy department and checkouts. General duties
included, stock filling, customer service skills, operating tills, stock replenishment.

 Achieved a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts with triple Distinctions.

 Achieved 10 G.C.S.E’s – A (Drama), B (History) AND 8 C’s.

Interests and Activities

Creative – Creative writing, mainly scripts and poems. Play the ukulele and learning the
acoustic guitar. Occasional perform in short comedy sketches showcased at theatre festivals
at Brunel University.

Leisure – Attend yoga sessions weekly to enhance my fitness and concentration. I also enjoy
cooking and entertain for friends and family.
