DRAIN

REPAIRS
• Backfill using excavated material placed in 300mm layers
• Finishes to match existing
(maximum) and compacted thoroughly
• Mechanical compaction may be used on deeper trenches once
there is 450mm of manually compacted material over the pipe

• If the depth to top of pipe is less than 600mm


75mm min paving slabs should be placed as shown

• Use only PVC drainage
• Excavate trench to falls, allowing 100mm for pea gravel

• Pipes to have a min of 75mm pea gravel over

• Trench widths to be as narrow as possible,


subject to a minimum of 150mm at sides of pipes

• Use PVC units to BS8301 : 1985 or concrete

semi-engineering brickwork (full brick thick)

• Bases to be 150mm concrete
