Ben Thieme is humorous, relaxed, creative, ambitious, and honest. He's employed for three jobs.

He loves playing music and playing different sports. He speaks both English and German and
learning the third (Spanish) language. He has toured ten countries.
Professional Life
He went to Bellarmine. Bellarmine is exceptionally competitive and harbors many pressures, but
he has grown into that pressure and competitiveness. He worked as a bike mechanic/builder at
Trailhead Cyclery, where he worked 40 hours a week. He also began preparing his Eagle Scout
project at his old primary school.
Bellarmine soccer was undoubtedly one of Bellarmine 's biggest defeats, but it also helped him
accomplish one of his most personal accomplishments. He continued to lament and apologize
after he had cut freshmen year. Sophomore year hurt him so much. He had prepared on these
trails all year, and he only managed to fall short again in the final cup. This process helped him
improve his work ethics. This job ethic inspired him to prep for SATs every day, which would
continue to be canceled. He can understand how many opportunities he has after the pandemic.
Academic History
His favorite Class has been English 2 Honors (honorable mention to Dr. Sullivan's APUSH
class). He's always been outdoorsy and interested in nature. He was absorbed in Mr. Healy's
lectures, rather than taking surface level notes. He advocates the Civil Rights movement, which
he looked at in-depth during APUSH. He found himself applying the principles discussed by my
Freshman year justice summit on racism to those historical trends. The lectures at the justice
summit, combined with conversations and presentations in Dr. Sullivan's Class, helped him
understand racism's incredibly complex topic better. In the summer of sophomore year, he spent
a week at a Boy Scout summer camp learning skill for the First Aid Merit Badge. He then further
reinforced my knowledge of that by being hired as a lifeguard, which required him to undergo a
thirty-hour training involving first aid, CPR and AED usage, and of course, aquatic lifesaving.
He's got all A's. His courses are advanced, and his test scores are good. He enjoys mathematics
and likes to solve complicated problems. However, he did not take advanced mathematics at the
Calculus standard because of his fresh year placement test. For all the options Bellarmine has, he
wishes they had allowed him to take summer or online courses to make that possible.
Mr. Bill Healy taught the English Class and Mr. Paul Spitzmueller as his junior year teacher and
Freshman Volleyball Coach. Mr. Rick Ruddell also knows him because he was his Kairos
moderator. He would also include Nick Butler, the JV Soccer Coach if they count as faculty.
Primarily focused on his educational history, skills and personal values, I recommend Ben
Thieme happily. If you have any questions please feel free to write me
