Afterwards, I want to ask students to write down as many events that they can
remember on their own piece of paper. Then as a class, we will make an events
list together. We will also put them in chronological order and discuss the
importance of each event and how it led to the American Revolution.

Assessment have their own list in order to do their project. Also through group discussion.
As the discussion is happening in class, it lets me see if students are confused
about any event or if any student needs any clarification.

Exploration After going over the students “Events Leading up to the American Revolution”
list, their projects will be handed out. For this project, students will be
challenged to develop a website that explores the events leading up to the
American Revolution.
Each group will consist of 4 people and each person will need to research 3
events. They will research the events that we went over as a class earlier that
day. Students may create their website using Google Sites, Weebly.com, or
Wix.com.
For each event, students will need to include; when the event took place, where

it took place, what happened, the outcome, and the impact. There will also
need to be at least 2 pictures for each event, and students will need to include
their sources. Their sources need to be in MLA format, there needs to be at

Explanation I want students to be able to capture all the reasons as to why the colonies
Assessment fought for their independence. Students will be putting the events in
chronological order and they have to include what happened and the outcome.
This will allow the students to realize what all the colonists had been going
through and dealing with and why they felt that independence from Britain was
the solution to their problem.

Elaboration Students will be challenged to create a website to show their knowledge of the
events that led up to the American Revolution.
