Best in Class Sampling Technology

Eurocount uses a special sample rotor where different types of sample cups, vials, vacuum/non vacuum tubes
etc. can be put. Sample aspiration is performed inside the analyzer making the analyzer safe to use, with
complete blood handling inside the analyzer. Further, the analyzer is suitable for Indian conditions with less
impact of dust, rodents and foreign particles which can often affect result quality and analyzer performance.
Superior Pump Technology
TS
The vacuum pump offered on the Eurocount replaces the standard peristaltic pumps used in traditional
analyzers. Unlike peristaltics pumps which need regular maintenance, the vacuum pump is absolutely
maintenance free, long life and delivers accurate volumes with no need of regular service or calibration.
New Power System – Power Adapter
TS
Eurocount does not use SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply) used so far on traditional analyzers. Instead it
uses a high quality external power adapter (similar to laptop adapters). This provides 2 major advantages –
The electrical noise which can lead to wrong results is reduced (the power supply is outside the analyzer),
and the cost of repair of damaged adapter due to electrical disturbance is less than 10% of the cost of the
SMPS! This change improves the quality of results, reliability of the system and reduces service costs.
Electronics as per today's standards
Use of low voltage boards, automated assembly of ICs, latest technology manufacturing equipment all lead to a
final product which is much more reliable than previous design electronic boards. Additionally, the energy
consumption has been reduced compared to the previous models of Hematology analyzers.
Powerful Touch Screen Based Operating Software
The operation of the analyzer relies on an extremely powerful yet simple to use software requiring almost no
training. The software operates using a colour touch screen with several features such as self-testing, recall of
previous results, user maintenance etc.
Modern Hardware - USB Port
The standard USB ports in front and back of the analyzer allow unprecedented connectivity, software
upgradeability and data back-up ability. Additionally printer connectivity on several external printers is possible
using available USB ports.
3-part Hematology analyzer
Unique Patented 3 stage Cleaning Technology
EurocountTS uses a unique patented 3 stage cleaning process including
a) High voltage pulse applied to aperture after each measurement (Aperture burn technology) for protein removal
b) Chemical cleaning after each run
c) High pressure back flush
This process ensures the best possible cleaning and clog removal, leading to lower breakdown of the analyzer
and better reliability.
Liquid Valve Technology
The liquid solenoid valves on EurocountTS are the latest superior valves available for liquid handling, much
improved over the traditional pinch valves. While the pinch valves required regular maintenance, liquid valves
offer practically maintenance free operation for many years, improving the overall reliability and trouble free
operation of the analyzer.
Online Reagent Inventory
The software offers a real time reagent inventory calculation system providing information on
inventory levels of all the reagents as well as the waste. The values are calculated as per usage of the
analyzer and can be easily reset by the user when a new pack is being changed, or waste is being
emptied.
New Additional Parameters – PLCC and PLCR for better platelet estimation
Almost all Hematology analyzers offer about 18 relevant parameters. The new EurocountTS offers the
standard parameters + 2 important parameters – PLCC and PLCR. While the total platelet count is
available in all Hematology analyzers, it is known that large platelets can be counted by the analyzer as
RBCs and RBC fragments can be counted as platelets. The platelet clumping presents another
challenge resulting in incorrect platelet counts. PLCR (Platelet Large Cell Ratio) provides excellent
clues as to whether such a phenomenon is happening and is a particularly useful tool for
thrombocytopenia offering more information to the lab than a simple platelet count.
On Board Printer as well as External Printer Option
EurocountTS comes with an onboard 58mm graphical printer as standard with the analyzer. The
laboratory also has the option of using an external printing solution from a host of compatible
commercial printers available in the market using the USB port. The reports printed also include the
histograms for WBC, RBC and platelets.
