I. Rationale

In times of pandemic, face to face is not allowed for schools to conduct


classes, but instead to take Modular instruction by sending modules to learners and
make their home as their classhome with the help of the parents/siblings/other
relatives who serve as the facilitators of learning.

First Quarter SMEA Report showed that there are many learners in Grade
one who are lagging behind. Out of _____, there are only _____ who can read VCV,
CVCV and CVC pattern words in MTB.

With this result, SDO Capiz will launch Project CAP (Capiznon Aton
Pabasahon), this is in consonance with the DepED program 3B’s Bawat Bata
Bumabasa. In this project we will be using blended instruction using modules and
sending video presentation on Beginning Reading classes through Messenger,USB
and through RBI (Radio Based Instruction). By this, it could help the facilitator of
learning at home in teaching our learners how to read.

II. Objectives

1. Implement DepEd 3B’s Program in SDO Capiz


2. Enhance parents competence in teaching beginning reading
3. Improve Reading Performance of learners lagging behind
4. Reduce Non-readers and Slow Readers

Grade one learners who are lagging behind in Reading in whole SDO Capiz

VI. Significant Features of the Innovation (Innovative Value Worth


Replicating)

This is both literacy and learning resource innovation in order to help the
learning facilitators in classhome to lessen their burden on how to let their children
read without the teacher in times of pandemic.

Teaching beginning reading is very difficult if the learning facilitator doesn’t


have the skills in teaching beginning reading. This is an intervention to be given by
teachers to parents/teacher facilitator aside from the reading materials.

SDO will conduct an orientation to grade one teachers who will serve as
demonstration teacher in beginning reading and they will make video presentation
of their lessons to be quality assured by the EPS in charge of MTB and Learning
Resource.

After the quality assurance, the video presentations will be sent to the
schools district through the MTB and LR coordinator for them to send also to schools
that could be used by teachers to be given to parents through Messenger, USB and
RBI.

At the end of Q4, assessment will be done by sending assessment tool to


teachers and they will conduct home visitation to learners who are lagging behind
and administer the assessment tool, to find out if there is an improvement to our
learners who are lagging behind.
