Let’s transform ‘poison into medicine’ by spreading the ‘highly effective
medicine’ of the Mystic Law - fulfilling our Shared Vow of Mentor & Disciple

’When great evil occurs, great good follows.’ (WND-1, pg. 1119)

“As humanity as a whole, finds itself in a period of transition, the time has come for the Soka
Gakkai to once again ‘cast off the transient and reveal the true’.” (Ushering in a New Day of Hope, Apr 2021 VC,
pg. 43)

When the entire nation was sunk in despair and without a glimmer of hope, on his release from
prison on July 3, 1945, Toda Sensei stood up alone from the charred ruins of the war. Battling
frail health and huge business debts, in that dark age, he set forth as a Bodhisattva of the Earth
to change poison into medicine, resolved that the time for Kosen-rufu had finally come!

“Amidst great hardship, we can attain an unsurpassed state of life. That is the fundamental truth
of Nichiren Buddhism. There is no impasse we cannot break through with faith in the mystic law.
There is no need to give up or be discouraged in the face of difficulty. Instead, serenely laugh off
your troubles. Cause the invincible spirit of Soka to blaze up and burn bright. Rouse the great
power of faith and practice, chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo and taking action. It is by challenging
ourselves in our human revolution in this way that we ‘cast off the transient and reveal the true’
in our own lives.” (Ushering in a New Day of Hope. Apr 2021 VC, pg. 43)

Establishing an undefeated, invincible self is the true aim of our faith. In these challenging times,
through the regenerative power of the Mystic Law, let’s cast off our transient identity and reveal
our fundamental power and strength as a Bodhisattva of the Earth. Awakening to our eternal
mission, our shared vow with Ikeda Sensei at this time, is the new dawn in our life!

Let’s summon forth dynamic courage and resilient hope from within our lives to fulfil our Great
Vow of removing suffering and illuminating the darkness of all living beings. Let’s triumph over
the most daunting hardships for the sake of our loved ones, humanity and the future by telling
ourselves ‘But still I’m not discouraged!’ (WND-1, pg. 748) With this lion-hearted spirit of the
Daishonin, let’s continue spreading the “highly effective medicine” of the Mystic Law to bring in a
New Dawn for all humanity!

The following are our actions points in the July 3rd campaign:

Ikeda Sensei shares: “They embrace a great vow, are unwavering in mind, and ever diligent in
practice. Because of these three elements, they are called bodhisattvas… When we possess all
three, we can activate the enormous power residing within us.” (Advancing with Courage and Hope toward a
New Dawn, Mar 2021 VC, pg. 41)

 Ø Daimoku infused with the Great Vow - With the conviction to change poison into
medicine, I will chant abundant daimoku for the great advancement of Kosen-rufu and
pray for the protection and recovery of all my fellow members and friends.

Ø Unwavering Resolve to Seek Sensei - Basing myself on the spirit of oneness of mentor
& disciple, I will undergo my great human revolution to awaken to the profound significance
of the current times, thereby, transforming the destiny of humanity alongside my mentor.

Ø Brave & Vigorous Exertion to Share Buddhism – a) I will personally reach out and
encourage each member in my care, including the future division members, and the new
friends in my district, imparting hope and courage to them until they report a breakthrough.
b) I will hold dialogues based on the philosophy of Soka Humanism with at least 3 people
in my environment - ones who are suffering the most - by getting to know their life struggles
and by supporting them until they overcome their suffering.

Advancing with courage and hope, I will create a ‘New Dawn District’ by taking the lead in
actualizing my district goals.

A district will become a New Dawn District by identifying and fulfilling its own monthly 6D goals
towards Daimoku, Dialogues, Daily e-visits, Diligent study, Discussion Meeting attendance and
Demonstrating Actual Proof of Victory, where members share experiences of their own
revitalisation and of encouraging their family members, friends, colleagues and fellow members.

I will joyfully update the Daimoku, Dialogue and Daily-Visit count on the Trailblazer portal, united
in our common goal (of the district) to report complete victory to Ikeda Sensei.
