IMPACT OF COVID 19 ON DAY TO DAY LIFE

Introduction :
For most of the people around the world today , the recent
COVID 19 outbreak is a symbol of how fragile and
unpredictable our lives can be in an unusual state of affairs.
As India emerges from its lockdown,it finds itself in uncharted
territory, with the pandemic fundamentally altering the way
people work , communicate and lead their daily lives.
This study aims to shed light on the perceptions and
experiences of people in the lockdown.The study outlines
findings from an online survey of 66 people between all age
groups and professions and understanding the impact being
felt on multiple levels and in different sectors of their life like Another significant finding states that due to tha pandemic and
habits, health, hygiene and finance and much more. its effects,work related ,health related and social activities
have been most disrupted.Since this survey was circulated in a

As a result of the emergence of COVID 19 a situation of
socio-economic crisis and psychological distress rapidly
occurred worldwide. Many psychological problems and
important consequences in terms of mental health including
stress, anxiety, depression, frustration, uncertainty during
COVID-19 outbreak emerged progressively. 4 Common
psychological reactions related to the mass quarantine which
was imposed in order to attenuate the COVID-19 spread are
generalized fear and pervasive community anxiety which are
typically associated with disease outbreaks.
Due to this new way adopted people have witnessed a large More than 60% people feel worried & concerned about the

affected their mental health.
3)Impact on Health and Personal Hygiene :

One of the most positive impact that can be seen due to the
pandemic is that people have now started focussing on their
Health and fitness. Also they have understood the importance
of personal hygiene and sanitation.In a country like India
where people neglect their health and do not keep their
surroundings clean & maintain hygiene, the pandemic is a big
warning as well as a lesson. 69.7 % people agree that they
have started focusing on their health and fitness.

More than 60% people agree that they often feel


sad/frustrated/angry/depressed/anxious/aggressive.

People have started emphasizing on maintaining healthy diets,


exercising and all together a healthy lifestyle.Almost 86.4 %
people state that they have started emphasizing on hygiene
and santiation due to the pandemic.43.9% people say they
frequently sanitize their surroundings and maintain hygiene in
the course of this situation.

India has also recorded rapidly increased cases of domestic


violence and criminal activities in the lockdown.Even though
the lockdown has been affecting the mental health of everyone
, people have found different positive ways of dealing with it .
To come out of these moods , people have started exercising,
playing games, draw,sleep, watch tv , listening music ,
cooking etc. 69% people believe talking to their friend/ family
help them come out of these moods and distress. People have
started engaging in activities that keep them happy and busy.

People have also started and engaging themselves in learning Conclusion & Outcomes :
or adopting new skills like cooking, learning musically
instruments, designing, craft and much more. Negative impacts include Mental health issues, financial
crises ,change of lifestyle, quarantined.

Postive impacts include importance of health and hygiene,


learning new skills & hobbies, in touch with family / friends,
discipline and adjustment to the situation .

Even though the pandemic has negative impacts , people have


started accepting and adjusting to the situation .People should
now learn to adapt to simpler lifestyle,look after their mental
and physical well being and follow the rules and regulations
and the norms of social distancing laid by the governement
and be patient so as to bring the situation back to
normal.COVID 19 is the NEW NORMAL.

Mostly this pandemic has left our lives in distraught but it has
come as a surprise to all of us and as made us realise the
