How Covid-19 has changed my lifestyle

COVID-19 is a disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus. 'CO'

stands for corona, 'VI' for the virus, and 'D' for disease. Formerly, this disease
was referred to as '2019 novel coronavirus' or '2019-nCoV.' Before the life of the
pandemic, children are allowed to go outside and enjoy nature. The beautiful
sun shines upon every future’s face, with each of them engaging in healthy
social activities.

Now, physical activities are being restricted as an attempt to decrease

the number of patients infected by the virus. Each individual is encouraged in
practising social distancing and wears face masks, only steps outside of the
house when necessary. Due to the current circumstances, almost everything
has to be done online, including education.

I find it more enjoyable to attend a physical class than an online class.

The reason being is that more communications can be done in a face-to-face
class than an online meetup. To be seated in front of a computer for hours,
without any physical engagement, it can be very hard for me to focus on the
class. My Internet connection isn’t the best, sometimes I cannot catch up to
what the teacher said due to bad Internet connection. Using online platforms
to attend classes can also be very distractful as the Internet offers thousands
of entertainment which have tempted you. Without the teacher’s gaze upon
the students, the students’ minds can easily wander off into the sea of the
Internet.

However, much time can be saved on account of the movement

control. I don’t need to wake up at 6 in the morning every day to arrive at
school on time. The distance from my house to English College Johor Bahru is
quite far, now I can ‘go to school’ with just a tap on my computer. That is very
convenient for me. Since online classes have become quite a norm in 2021,
each class can now be recorded to be revised for the second time. This is very
useful when it comes to revision for the exam month. Because of the excessive
use of the Internet, the students are to be trained to search information from
the Internet and practice good use of it.

The pandemic has delayed an abundance of important events

including the Tokyo Olympics which is supposed to be held in the year 2020.
Nonetheless, the pandemic has also benefited humanity including the use of
advanced technology as schools are necessitated to use online platforms to
teach the students. This has allowed most senior citizens to catch up with the
current use of technology and expands their knowledge. My hopes are for all
the citizens to be vaccinated so we can move onto the next step of reducing
the effects of Covid-19.
