BYK-017 is especially suited for defoaming millbases during dispersion and subsequent processing. The product
is an excellent defoamer for glycol pastes and aqueous pigment concentrates.
BYK-017
It exhibits excellent defoaming during grinding and excellent storage stability. This results in improved grinding
and handling of the final pigment concentrates and coatings.
BYK-018 is especially suitable for pigmented emulsion systems based on styrene/ acrylate, acrylate or acrylate/
BYK-018 polyurethane combinations with a low PVC. In industrial emulsion paints that are applied by dipping, flow
coating, and airless spraying BYK-018 is very efficient against microfoam.
BYK-019 is recommended for aqueous coatings based on polyurethane dispersions and polyurethane /acrylic
combinations. It is also effective for defoaming pigment concentrate formulations.
BYK-019
To reduce microfoam, a combination of BYK-019 with BYK-024 in a ratio of 3:2 has been shown to give
excellent results.
BYK-021 is particularly useful for pigmented emulsions based on styrene/acrylics, acrylics or acrylic/poly-
BYK-021 urethanes with PVC‘s of 18-25%. This defoamer has demonstrated high activity against microfoam in high
gloss and semi-gloss aqueous coatings, specifically in airless and air-assisted spray applied coatings.
BYK-022 is especially suited for pigmented emulsion systems based on styrene/acrylics, acrylics or acrylic/
BYK-022 polyurethanes with PVC‘s of 18-25%. It can also be used in amine-neutralized systems and is very efficient
against microfoam.
BYK-023 is preferably used in pigmented emulsion paints with PVC‘s of 30-50% based on styrene/acrylics,
BYK-023
acrylic or terpolymer binders. It also can be used in hybrid systems.
BYK-044 is especially suitable for defoaming of the millbase during dispersion and further processing.
The product defoams excellently glycol pastes and aqueous pigment concentrates.
BYK-044
For defoaming of emulsion paints and dispersions lacquers BYK-044 is preferably used in pure acrylic and
styrene acrylic emulsions.

BYK-021 Separation may occur during storage and transportation. Mix well before use.
To be stored and transported at a temperature below 40°C.
Temperature for transport and storage must be between 0°C and 40°C.
BYK-023 This emulsion is sensitive to temperature extremes. If the temperature has exceeded or fallen below the
BYK-044 recommended range, the product has to be tested before use and, if necessary, be re-emulsified at room
temperature.
