As for me, the universal declaration of
human rights has a significant
association with our 1987 constitution
Article III, Section I Bill of rights. Where
it protects the rights of the Filipino
people to avoid the people with power
abuse other citizens whom they
deemed as powerless.
Universal declaration of human rights was promulgated Universal declaration of human rights
for the freedom of speech, freedom from fear, and was again to protect the fundamental

the neighboring countries. These contains all the rights of their status. It was established to
every individual regardless of age, gender, race, and create friendly relationship to other
religion. It promotes protection of the basic rights of countries by promoting peace and
humans that should not be stepped into. This encourages welfare to their respective citizens.

may lead to a greater conflict. However, in the Philippine
context the objective of this seemed to be not met. An
instance is the extra judicial killings which is rumored to
be caused by the current administration. It is an
unfortunate event where “suspected” drug dealers and
users where murdered without due process. This event
stumbled the heart of the constitution where every
citizen should not be deprived by life and should be given
a due process before convicting as a criminal.

Reflection
After reading and watching videos regarding human rights, I am thankful that they were established. In relation with the current events in our
country, human rights may not seem to appeal them. An instance is the formulation of the new law anti terrorism bill where just by a mere
suspicion you can be convicted as a terrorist; without evidence you can be arrested which stumble the human rights of every citizen. The fear
of abuse and oppression is an enough reason to junk this bill, I do not support terrorist and moreover I do not tolerate abusive authorities. If
the heart of the constitution can be easily abused and tampered, hence this bill could easily be abused especially by high ranking officials.
