ENGAGE
Introduce yourself formally and then tell the students an ambition “I am Tiger, I play golf every day so one
day I will be famous”. Ask students what they are going to do when they are older or have finished the
English course. Q&A around the topic of ambitions. Ask students what their hobbies are and what they are
going to do with or what their ambitions are for their skills. Make your questions range in time from what
students are going to do at the end of the year to in ten years time.
STUDY
Elicit the vocabulary not drawn out in the engage stage. Aim to cover: famous; rock star; movie star;
medicine; earn; nurse; film company; racing driver; martial arts; technology; Prime Minister; and President.
Elicit remaining vocabulary by drawing expressions on the board. Elicit and discuss and grammar points.
Demonstrate examples of the exercises before handing them out to students in pairs. For all exercises,
monitor, observe and provide feedback. Feedback should be self-correction, peer-correction and teacher
correction.

Predicting the Future!
Divide the group into pairs. Demonstrate the completion of one sentence on the exercise cards. Each pair
must fill in a prediction for each sentence. Then pairs must find another pair with a similar prediction. The
aim of the game is to locate a pair with 2 similar predictions. Pairs should feedback their predictions to the
group at the end of the game.
