There was a one month of preparation for an evangelical mission in the Sitio of Lawis, Carlagan,

Burdeous, Quezon. This evangelical works would not be possible if without the cooperation and help of
Polilio District Elders. I as a GM initiated and participated in this mission.

As we began the ground work preparation, there was a time that we were very exhausted in looking for
our prospect and targets. For three days, we visited and invited every households to get our targets.
With strong hearts and mind I knew that I could successfully accomplish the mission with Elder Benzar.
We distributed VOP pamphlets and organized vacation bible school. I taught songs and bible stories to
many children so that we would have potential attendees in the evangelical mission that we are
planning to do in this place. By the help of the Lord, I have met Aza Family.

Mr. Ismael Aza and Mrs. Gloria Aza or locally known as “Kuya Maing” and “Ate Lolay” were very
approachable and kind as they received us in their house. We conducted bible study with them twice in
a week. They told us that they were happy to listen with the word of God because they were Catholic
and Born-Again Christians. Also, Kuya Maing is a leader and an elder in their barangay who leads as the
head of their native group “Dumagat” in the place of Carlagan, Burdeous, Quezon.

I was very happy as we conducted our evangelical mission because Ate Lolay invited the whole
community and many responded. She also said to her endeavors that it is much better to attend in this
kind of activity because it is all about God’s word than to spend and waste time in gambling. She also
told me that she was once an alcoholic drinker. She spent two to three days of drinking alcohol, found
dancing everywhere and mostly above the table because of being drunk. And now that she was old, she
had many health problems felt inside her body. She also added that drinking alcohol and engaging in
different vices would just harm our health as it was also written in the bible.

As the days go by, getting closer and closer to the final day of the evangelical mission. I found Ate Lolay
hesitant and worried because she is thinking how her children would react on her decision in the truth
she heard and accept Jesus Christ as her Savior. She had fourteen children and she really wanted to
refrain from the vices she had. Also, she suffered from a serious illness in the past that when she was a
pregnant, the baby inside her womb was almost three days dead before it was normally delivered all
because of her vices and God worked for her healing. She said that God is love and really kind to her and
God deserved to be worshipped and served.

And when the baptism day came, Ate Lolay with her fifteen family members (her children, daughter-in-
laws and husband) accepted the Lord and got baptized.

At present, she is very happy serving the Lord in the new members of Sitio Lawis, Calagan, Burdeous,
Quezon.
