The Government of Odisha ensures
that the PwDs shall have the right
to live in the community. The
Government under ‘Biju Pucca
Ghar Yojana’ is already providing
Pucca houses to PwDs on priority
basis. Marriage incentive to 400
couples/ year is also provided for
solemnization of marriage between
a non-disabled person and a person
with benchmark disability.
At the district level, the District
Level Committee on Disability
headed by Collector have been
constituted. Designated Courts
with provision of Special Public
Prosecutors are functioning to deal
with the cases of aggrieved PwDs.
All Collectors have been instructed
to take appropriate measures for
protection of PwDs from abuse,
violence and exploitation as and
when situation warrants.

Odisha State Disaster Management
