Lab#10 DYNAMIC ROUTER
Objective:
This lab exercise is designed to understand routing and procedure to setup
RIP on routers.
Procedure:
In this lab we did the dynamic routing, for that we place two routers and switches
connected with end devices as shown in the figure.
ROUTER0
ROUTER1
As figure shows, we connect routers with the help of serial DCE wire.
For configuration we attached the console wire as shown in the below figure.
For configuration we go to the configure terminal in terminal window and assign the IP
address to the interface of fast Ethernet as 192.168.10.1. This IP address is a gate way for
end devices connected to the switch0. Moreover, link is up with the help of ‘no
shutdown,’
For configuration we go to the configure terminal in terminal window and assign the IP
address to the interface of serial0/1/0 as 192.168.20.1. This IP address is a gate way for
end devices connected to the switch0. Moreover, link is up with the help of ‘no
shutdown,’
Clock is set on Router0 as ‘64000’ shown in below figure
For configuration we go to the configure terminal in terminal window and assign the
IP address to the interface of fast Ethernet as 192.168.30.1 and interface of serial0/1/0
as 192.168.20.2. Fast Ethernet IP address is a gate way for end devices connected to
the switch0. Moreover, link is up with the help of ‘no shutdown,’ Clock is set on
Router0 as ‘64000’ shown in below figure.
DYNAMIC ROUTING FOR ROUTER1:
In dynamic routing we only route the connected network that is 192.168.30.0 and
192.168.20.0 as shown in figure below.
In dynamic routing we only route the connected network that is 192.168.10.0 and
192.168.20.0 as shown in figure below.
HOME TASK:
We place three routers and switches connected with end devices as shown in the
figure.
For configuration we attached the console wire as shown in the below figure.
First we configure our router1 by using console wire from PC0 and assign IP address
to the fast Ethernet interface 192.168.10.1 and serial interface as 192.168.20.1. Clock
is set to 64000 and dynamic routing is done on connected network that is
192.168.10.0 and 192.168.20.0 as shown in figure below. Dynamic routing is done by
routing network 192.168.10.0 and 192.168.20.0.
Then we configure our router2 by using console wire from CopyPC0(1) and assign IP
address to the fast Ethernet interface 192.168.30.1 and serial interface0/0/0 as
192.168.20.2.
Router2 is configured for the network that is connected on the right side IP address is
assign to the serial port0/0/1 as 192.168.40.1
Lastly, we configure our router2 by using console wire from CopyPC1 and assign IP
address to the fast Ethernet interface 192.168.50.1 and serial interface as
192.168.40.2. Dynamic routing is done on connected network that is 192.168.40.0
and 192.168.50.0 as shown in figure below.
Conclusion:
In this lab we learnt about dynamic routing. Coding steps are very easy that is first of all we
assign IP addresses and gateway to all end devices. Then we configure routers using console
wire and assign serial and fast Ethernet addresses. Clock is assign to the respective routers as
needed. Lastly, fr dynamic routing we route only connected network which is the main
difference between static routing and dynamic routing.
