For example, when you eat, your eyes look on the food on the table. ‘Your nose smelis it You can teil if it is hot or cold with your hand. ‘Your tongue tastes the food. Your ears can sometimes hear the sound of crispy food being chewed. Your senses collect information from your surroundings. Each of your sense organs has parts that send information to your brain. Avoid frends who shout directly to your ears. ‘You must also lower the volume of your radio or television set. Cover your ears if there is a loud explosion. Caring for your Nose You must not insert pointed objects or small foreign objects into your nostrils. If you are unable to remove any foreign objects from your nostrils, consult immediately an EENT specialist. Gently blow your nose using ‘ean handkerchief or facial tissue to avoid any damage to delicate part of the nose and ears. If nose bleeding occurs pinch the upper part of your nose before the nose bridge with your head slightly bent forward. Breathe with your mouth and avoid swallowing the blood that enters your mouth. Put ice pack on your nose to prevent further bleeding. See a doctor if bleeding persists. Page | 13 Sniffing chemical and other substances like powder, flour, or clement must be avoided. |t is hazardous to your health. ‘Caring for your Tongue Your tongue may not function well if you don't protect them from foods that are too hot, too cold, or too Spicy, or foods that have harsh effects on the tongue. Avoid piercing your tongue and implanting metal on it This may cause infection or fear of acquiring tetanus. uy ‘Gently bush = your tongue after brushing your teeth. Page | 14 ‘Caring for your Skin Healthy skin needs proper nourishment. Eat vegetables and fruits, and drink at least 8 glasses of water avery day. Take 8 bath every day using bath soap or body wash and water. Remember to dry your skin with clean bath towel before wearing clean Gothes after sach Your skin also meeds enough exercise and sleep. Avoid scratching your itchy skin. Apply derma cream ‘or lotion to prevent the itching. Use Sunscreen going swimming to protect your skin from ultra-violet rays coming from the sun. Page | 15
