The capital of Colombia is Bogota. It is about 482 years old and has a population of around 7.181
million people.

Until August 6, 1538, Bogotá was founded as the capital of the New Kingdom of Granada by the
Spanish conqueror Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada. At the time of Spanish rule and from 1991 to
2000 it was called Santafé de Bogotá, capital of the Republic of Colombia. The founding of Bogotá
has two moments, one de facto and the other legal. The de facto foundation occurred on August
6, 1538, when Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada installed a barracks or military camp called Nuestra
Señora de la Esperanza, in what is now the Chorro de Quevedo.

Living in Bogotá is great because there is always a fascinating and interesting place to go, but it
is not always easy to get there without a car, and even if you have a car, the unbearable traffic
will not allow and even delay your arrival.

The text was made with the theme of Bogota since valedupar is NOT the capital of Colombia : /
