Interrelationship among various aspects of health, population and


environment

 Health, population and environment are closely related with each other.
 If there is effect on any of them then the other two will be affected.
 For an example: If there is rapid population growth, there is more utilization
of natural resources.
 It causes environmental degradation. In such environment, people cannot
live a healthy life.
 Interrelationship among various aspects of health, population and
environment can further be justified with the help of following points:-

Physical aspect

Psychological aspect
Biological aspect Health

Socio-cultural aspect Population Environment Political aspect

Economic aspect Science and technological aspect


a) Relation of physical aspect with other
 Physical aspect includes man-made and natural non living things such as
buildings, road, bridge, air, water, land, etc.
 Human beings construct physical infrastructures to make their life more
comfortable and convenient.
 Quality and quantity of physical resources determine health status of people.
 Status of these physical resources determines health of the people.
 If there is no environmental pollution, people are with good health.
 Otherwise, they suffer from different kinds of diseases. More people want to
live in the place where there is infrastructural development. Urban area can
be taken as an example.

b) Relation of biological aspect with other


 Biological aspect includes all living beings which include plants and
animals.
 Human beings need them to fulfill their needs.
 Plants provide them oxygen, food and shelter.
 Animals are also sources of different needs for the people.
 Distribution of biological resources is determined by physical resources.
 More people live in the place where there is good agricultural production.
 People can improve their socio economic condition in such place.

c) Relation of socio-cultural aspect with other


 Socio-cultural aspect includes social and cultural practices made and
implemented by human beings in their society.
 Human beings are social beings.
 They make different social rules and regulations to maintain disciplines in
the society.
 People use various natural resources to perform their socio-cultural
activities.
 In Hindu culture, people regard peeple as God Bishnu, river as goddess
Ganga, air as Bayu Dev and fire as Agni Dev.
 Similarly, there is need of different resources to carry out religious activities.
 We use water as Jal, flower as Prasad, grains as Accheta.
d) Relation of economic aspect with other
 Economic aspect includes all the activities related to income and
expenditure.
 People need money to fulfill their needs.
 They earn money in various ways.
 People involve in different economic activities to earn money.
 Economic status of people is related to consumption of natural resources.
 When people have low economic status, they depend on natural resources to
fulfill their daily needs.
 It may lead to exploitation of natural resources causing environmental
degradation.
 People have poor health in such environment.

e) Relation of political aspect with other

 Political aspect is defined as the plan, policy, program and distribution of


resources prepared by political management to protect rights of people and
fulfill needs of them.
 Politic is essential to make policies and activate them to run a country.
 Political aspect affects various aspects of human life.
 Education, economic development, social security, fulfillment of basic needs
of the people all are guided by political aspect.
 Politicians are responsible for making plans and policies.
 If plans and policies are not in the favors of the environment, there is
environmental degradation.
 On the contrary, if the plans and policies are in the favor of the environment,
the environment would be conserved.
f) Relation of psychological aspect with other

 Thinking and feeling of people are included in psychological aspect.


 People have positive concept if they are reared and cared in a good family
environment.
 Positive people conserve environment, maintain health and manage
population.
 People with negative attitude…………..
 When people have positive attitude towards the environment, they have
feeling of conserving the environmental resources.
 But if they have negative attitude towards the environment, they degrade the
environment.

g) Relation of science and technological aspect with other

 Science and technological aspect includes development of email and internet


in communication, development of bullet train, rocket in transportation,
development of organ transplantation in medical science etc.
 Science and technology has made human life easier and more advanced.
 The use of science and technology may positively or negatively affects
health, population and environment.
 Use of technology determines environmental situation.
 If the use of technology is in favor of the environment, it conserves and
promotes the status of the environmental resources.
 Nuclear power can be taken as an example.
