Export Assembly functionality
• Create a folder in the Teamcenter desktop.
• Open the assembly in NXCad.
• File  Export Assembly.
• Select the tab Non Masters/Associated files. Select the Associated
Files Root Directory and then select the folder which we have created
in the Teamcenter desktop.
• Select the Log Files tab and Specify Output Log File, save the file as
output.clone in the created folder(4500_Race car).
Import Assembly functionality using
Numbering Source option Part ID Generator

• File  Import Assembly into teamcenter.


• Select Part ID Generator in the Numbering Source.
• Select Assemblies or parts option in Parts to import heading
and select the race car assembly in the list of NXCad files.
• Select the Other Parameters and set the default destination
folder. Select Output Log File as import_1 in the 4500_Race
car folder.
Import Assembly functionality using
Numbering Source option OS FileName.
• File  Import Assembly into teamcenter.
• Select OS Filename in the Numbering Source.
• Select Assemblies or parts option in Parts to import heading
and select the race car assembly in the list of NXCad files.
• Select the Other Parameters and set the default destination
folder.
• Select Output Log File as Import_OS Filename in the 4500_Race
car folder.
Building a New Product Structure for Single
Level Assembly

• Create a folder using File  New  Folder


• Under the folder, create four items using File  New  item
• Select the item named TLA and send to Structure Manager
and Select Part-1, Part-2, Part-3 and right click to copy and
paste in the Structure Manager under TLA.
Building a New Product Structure for Multi
Level Assembly
• Create a folder using File  New  Folder
• Under the folder, create eight items using File  New  item
• Select the item named TLA and send to Structure Manager and Select
Part-1, 2nd_Level_Assm-1, 2nd_Level_Assm-2 and right click to copy
and paste in the Structure Manager under TLA.
• Copy Part-2 from Teamcenter and paste in the Structure Manager
under 2nd_Level_Assm-1.
• Copy Part-3 and 3rd_Level_Assm-1 from Teamcenter and paste in the
Structure Manager under 2nd_Level_Assm-2.
• Copy Part-1 and Part-4 from Teamcenter and paste in the Structure
Manager under 3rd_Level_Assm-1.
Where Used functionality in Impact Analysis

• Select TLA and send to Structure Manager and then click Edit
 Add.
• Select open by name in item id and select any one component
item. Click Ok.
• Click the view folder in the TLA and select the added
component item and select impact analysis tab.
• Select Where Used and Depth as one level.
Where Referenced functionality in Impact
Analysis

• Select 4500_Race car and select the impact analysis tab.


• Select Where  referenced and Depth  all levels
Compare Product Structures functionality
• Create a new folder using File  New  Folder
• Create eight items using File  New  item
• Select TLA-1 and send to Structure Manager, copy part-1, part-2, part-3, 2nd Level
Assm and paste in the Structure Manager under TLA-1.
• Copy Part-4, Part-5 from Teamcenter and paste in the Structure Manager under 2nd
Level Assm. Save the Structure Manager using Save icon.
• Select TLA-2 and send to Structure Manager, copy part-1, part-2, 2nd Level Assm and
paste in the Structure Manager under TLA-2.
• Copy Part-4, Part-5 from Teamcenter and paste in the Structure Manager under 2nd
Level Assm. Save the Structure Manager using Save icon.
• Copy Part-1 from Teamcenter and select Part-2 from TLA-2 Structure Manager and Click
Edit  Replace
• Split Structure Manager into two by clicking icon in Structure Manager. Click TLA-2 BOM
view.
• Select Edit  Compare and Select Multi level as mode and check in Report and Apply.
• BOM Compare Report will be shown.
