Introduction
The integration of computer in the education has brought a tremendous change in the
educational sector by enhancing profoundly efficient teaching to learning and from learning
to teaching, back and forth.

The computer in education has enhanced the teaching and learning by providing readily-
available products of audio-visual aids. Computers provide immersive experience of all the
learning by giving a feel-of-experience while working on it.

Computer has become an important part of every walk of life such as on campus, at home
and in office. Computer and related technologies have been used in distance learning through
various ways such as Teleconferencing, video-conferencing, audio graphics, Teletext, video
text, multimedia and hypermedia, e-books, online database, online discussion, on-demand
call in course etc. Virtual classrooms play an important role in distance learning. Students can
raise their doubts and teachers can provide the solutions without going to one’s place.

Today, computers have improved the quality of teaching and enhance the learning
process with the help of various tools such as multimedia projector, PowerPoint presentations
etc. Traditional methods of teaching can be monotonous, boring and students start getting
frustrated. But information technology make learning process more interested through games,
animated graphics etc. There are the following benefits of computer-aided learning:

• Interest and motivation

• Individualization
• Compatible learning style
• Optimal use of learning time
• Immediate feedback
• Error analysis
• Repetitive practice
• Pre-determined to process syllabus

Computer and its related technology have completely revolutionized our lives. Now,
information technology is important in every walk in life. Undoubtedly, computer and
information technology great impact in our education system. Various technologies have
been used to improve the teaching and learning process. Information technology makes our
education system interested and effective. Students can learn better without getting bored and
frustrated. This paper presents the current scenario of information technology based
education system.

1
Many prepare course assignments, make study notes, tutor themselves with specialized
multimedia, and process data for research projects. Most exchange e-mails with faculty,
peers, and remote experts. They keep up-to-date in their fields on the Internet, accessing
newsgroups, bulletin boards, and web sites posted by professional organizations. Most access
library catalogs, bibliographic databases, and other academic resources in text, graphics, and
imagery on the World Wide Web (Green, 1998).

Attitudes can be defined as generalized reactions to psychological images. These images

may consist of people, objects, concepts, living things, values, events, and so forth. Attitude
is closely related to behavior and may be affected by the nature of objects, cognitive
structure, strength of attitude, and characteristics of verifiability (Satish, 1994).

In the avenues of dimensions of computer in education, it has been revealed that IT

Information Technology in education appears to bolster that dimension of teaching, which
makes such technologies essential for the profile of a 21st-century teacher (Larrosa, 2010).
Which clarifies that the usage of computer has become very important in the current century,
as it is playing a vital role in almost every aspect of human life.

Moreover, the response of students with such handy technological advancements is very
friendly. The students prefer to use quickest methods to attain the results of their queries and
the works. Here are few attributes that keep the students indulge in the computer when
integrated in education:

• Improved Concentration
• Lesser Probability Of Getting Bored
• Goal Orientation
• More Enthusiasm
• Lesser proximity of errors during learning

Teacher lessons are unthinkable without the use of computers (Radenković & Ivković,
1998). The computer provides an opportunity for the creation of multimedia presentations
and even specialized applications for specific thematic areas of the course content. Of course,
teachers’ approaches differ. They decide whether to allow students to use presentations and
scripts in a digital format, enabling students to pay more attention to oral presentations of
teachers instead of writing down notes. The use of presentations is not just a replacement for
chalks and boards, but also for teachers and students.

Statement of Problem

This research work signifies the study to explore the usage of the computer in the field of
education for students. It evaluates the student’s self-efficacy towards computer, which
explicates the enthusiasm of students towards the usage of computer. This study also attempts
to traverse through the attitudes of the students towards the usage of the computer, that how
does it affect them and also investigates basic needs for the students about computer in the
field of education.

Objectives of the Study

Following will be the objectives of the research study:

1. To evaluate student’s self-efficacy towards Computer

2. To seek out student’s attitude towards usage of Computer

Significance of the Study

The present research work is significant in a way that it explores about the usage of the
computer on the students and how does the integration of the computer affect the students
when during their academic sessions.

Moreover, this study is significant because it provides comparative analysis on the

usage of the computers from the students to the teachers and from the teachers to the students
back and forth.

Furthermore, the importance of this study is cardinal as it has a specific criteria set to
traverse upon the pros and cons of the implementation of the computers in the field of the
education.

In short, this study takes the readers to the avenues of the significant problems and
benefits of the computer in the education to weigh the actual outcome of the implementation
of the computer into the education.

Delimitation of Study

1. This study of the research work is limited to Multan region only.

2. It will focus on few public and private institution in order to determine the various
factors of integration of computer in education.

3
Research Methodology

 This research study is quantitative study which will analyze the various factors in
learning the student’s self-efficacy in computer education.
 This research study will use the known tools as follows:
o Questionnaire
 It will include closed-ended questions that will determine the specific
factor within the audience
o Interviews
 It will include various people to interview. The questions in interview
will move from open-ended question to closed-ended questions.
o Statistical Analysis
 It will include SPSS software that will quantify the numbers provided
from above tools used in drawing out the numeric values, charts and
graphs.
 The size of sample for this research study will be as follows:
o Data of Two universities situated in Multan region
o Data of Elementary school in Multan
o Data of Two or more private schools in Multan
 The study will be using Simple Random sampling. All these data will help in
formulating as very comprehensive case study. All sample units will be personally
contacted and interviewed.
