1) Briefly restate your situation from Module 1 and your role.

For this scenario I am working as a finance manager for Starbucks in their corporate
office. As a finance manager I am responsible for the financial health of the organization by
keeping track of financial reports, planning investment activities, and planning long term
financial goals for Starbucks. I will overlook all finances as I am curious to learn what exactly
Starbucks invests in and how much they truly bring in to the company. I have overlooked the
structure, human resources, and pollical structure of the company. The organization has taken a
great approach to diversity and making change within the company. They have taken steps to
ensure all employees of Starbucks have benefits and lots of support with the company no matter
what position they work for.

2) Describe how the symbols of the organization influenced the situation.

Symbols have influenced this situation because of their CEO Howard Schultz who is an
amazing businessman, writer, and entrepreneur with a great personality. The symbol of the
Starbucks Siren logo represents the vision of the company by providing customers with the
finest coffee in the world. When you're surrounded by people who share a passionate
commitment around a common purpose, anything is possible. (Starbucks’ Chairman President
and CEO Howard Schultz, Brainly). Howard Schultz has influence the whole company and has
lived out the message of their logo by believing in diversity and cultural values.

3. Recommend how you would use organizational symbols for an alternative course of action
regarding your case.
I would use organizational symbols for an alternative course of action regarding my case
because Starbucks definitely is the finest coffee in the world. They not only provide rich beans
of coffee, but provide all their employees with great benefits. I would also use their Siren logo
to represent the equality of the company. The foundation of the company is built on going the
extra mile and doing the best for all employees and customers. The was they use their logo is
great and I would not recommend any change. Their logo is on every apron, cup, pastry bag,
store, and ASU cups!

4. Reflect on what you would do or not do differently give what you have learned about this
frame.
I would not do anything differently for the company due to the way their symbol reflects the
greatness of Starbucks. There is no other company I would want to work for and make
minimum wage with! As I progress in my college and work towards a better career in the
future, I hope to work in corporate part of Starbucks coffee company. Howard Schultz has
created an amazing company and I hope it never changes its values and beliefs.
