1. A line PQ measuring 70mm in inclined to H.P at 30 ° and to V.P at 45° with the end P
20mm above H.P and 15mm infront of V.P .Draw its projections. (10)

2. One end of a line 70mm long is 10mm above HP and 20mm infront of VP.The other end
is 40mm above HP and 65mm infront of VP.Draw the projection and find true
inclinations. (10)

3. A line 100mm long has one of its ends 50mm infront of VP and 20mm above HP.The
other end is 20mm infront of VP and above HP.The length of the top view of the line
measures 80mm.Draw the projections and find the inclinations of the line to the HP and
VP. (10)

4. A line measuring 80mm lomg has one of its ends 60mm above HP and 20mm infront of
VP.The other end is 15mm above HP and infront of VP.The front view of the line is
60mm long.Draw its projections. (10)

5. A line LM of 70mm long has its end L which is 10mm above HP and 15mm infront of
VP.Its top and front view measures 60mm and 40mm respectively.Draw the projections
of the line .Find its true inclinations with HP and VP. (20)

6. The distance end projectors of two points A and B is 70mm.Point A is 10mm above HP
and 15mm infront of VP.Point B is 50mm above HP And 40mm infront of VP.Find the
shortest distance between A and B by (a) rotating line method (b) Trapezoidal Plane
method.Measure the true inclination of the line AB with VP and HP. (20)

7. A square lamina ABCD of 60mm side with one of its edges on HP and lamina inclined at
an angle of 45° to HP and one of its edge inclined at an angle 30° to VP (20)

8. A hexagonal plate of side 20mm rests on the HP on one of its sides inclined at 45° to the
VP.The surface of the plate makes an angle of 30° with the HP.Draw the front and top

9. A square lamina ABCD of 40mm side rests on the corner C such that the diagonal AC
appears to be at 30° to the VP in the top view.The two sides BC and CD containing the
corner C make equal inclinations with the HP.The surface of the lamina makes 45° with
HP.Draw the top and front view. (20)

10.A circular lamina of 60mm diameter rests on HP on a point 1 on the circumference .The
lamina is inclined to HP such that the top view of its is an ellipse of minor axis
35mm.The top view of the diameter through the point 1 makes an angle 45° with
VP.Draw the projections and determine the angle made by the lamina with the HP. (20)

11.A square lamina PQRS of side 40mm rests on the ground on its corner P in such away
that the diagonal PR is inclined at 45° to the HP and apparently inclined at 30° to the
VP.Draw its projections. (20)

12. A hexagonal plate of side 30mm has one of its corners on HP and the opposite corner on
VP.The plate makes 60° with HP and 30° with VP.Draw the projections of the plate. (20)

1. A cone of base 40mm diameter and axis 50mm long touches the VP on a point of its base
circle. Its axis is inclined at 30° to VP and parallel to HP.Draw its projections (20)

2. A hexagonal prism, side of base 25mm and axis 60mm long lies with one of its
rectangular faces on the HP, such that the axis is inclined at 45° to the VP.Draw its
projections. (20)

3. Draw the projections of a cone of base diameter 50mm and axis of length 70mm resting
on the ground on one of its generators with the axis of the cone parallel to VP. (20)

4. Draw the projections of a hexagonal pyramid with side of base 30mm and axis 70mm
long when it is resting on one of the base sides on HP such that the triangular face
containing that side is perpendicular to HP and axis is parallel to VP. (20)

5. A square prism of base side 35mm and axis length 60mm lies on the HP on one of its
longer edges with its faces equally inclined to the HP.Draw its projections when its axis
is inclined at 30° to the VP. (20)

one of its base corners , such that the axis is parallel to VP.Draw its projections. (20)

7. A cylinder of base diameter 35mm and axis height 35mm is resting on the ground on its
base.It is then tilted such that a Solid diagonal is vertical. Draw its projections (20)

circumference of the base with one of its slant generator perpendicular to HP and parallel

9. A thin rectangular lamina of sides 50 mm X 25 mm has its shorter side in the HP and
inclined at an angle of 30° to the VP.Project its front view when its top view is a perfect
square of 25mm side. (10)

10.An electric bulb is placed 2.5m above the horizontal floor and in the center of a room 3m
X 3m X 3m .Determine by the principles of projection , its distance from one of the
bottom corners of the room.Adopt a suitable scale of 1:50 . (10)

11.The mid point of a straight line AB is 60mm above HP and 50mm infront of VP.The line
measures 80mm long and inclined at an angle of 30° to HP and 45° to VP.Draw its
projections. (20)

Perspective Projection & Development of Surfaces

1. A square pyramid of base edge 20mm and altitude 40mm rests on its base on the
ground with a base edge parallel to the PP.The axis of the pyramid is 25mm behind the
PP and 25mm to the right of the eye.The eye is 50mm infront of the PP and 50mm
above the ground. Draw the perspective view of the pyramid. (20)

2. A rectangular prism sides of base 50mm X 30mm and height 55mm, rests with its base
on the ground plane.A vertical edge is in the picture plane and one of the longer edges
of its base is inclined at 45° to PP and behind it.The station point is 50mm infront of PP,
75mm above the ground plane and lies in a central plane which passes through the
center of the prism. Draw the perspective view. (20)

3. A cube of side 30mm is resting on the ground on one of its faces with a vertical face in
PP and the front face is 10mm infront of the PP.The central plane is located 20mm to
the left of the nearest vertical face of the cube.The station point is 40mm infront of PP
and 45mm above GP.Draw the perspective view of the solid. (20)

4. A cone of base dia 50mm and axis height 60mm resting on ground with its base.The
vertex of the cone is 30mm behind PP.The station pint is 50mm to the right of the

with a base edge parallel to the VP.A circular hole of dia 20mm is drilled right through
the pyramid with the axis of the hole perpendicular to the VP and meeting the axis of the
pyramid at 20mm above the base.draw the development of the pyramid with hole.(20)

6. A pentagonal pyramid opf base side 25mm and axis height 60mm is lying on the ground
on its base such that one of the base edge is parallel to and far away from the VP.It is cut
by two cutting planes, one is perpendicular to VP, inclined at an angle of 40° to HP and
meeting the axis at 14mm from the base. The other plane is parallel to HP and
perpendicular to VP meeting the axis at a distance of 28mm from the base.draw the
lateral surface development of the cut solid. (20)

7. A lamp shade is formed by cutting a cone of base 144mm diameter and 174mm height by
a horizontal plane at a distance of 72mm from the apex and another plane inclined at 30°
to the HP, passing through one extremity of the base. Draw the development of the lamp
shade. (20)

8. A vertical hexagonal prism of 30mm side and axis 65mm long has one of its rectangular
faces parallel to VP and nearer to it.A circular hole of 40mm dia is drilled through the
prism completely such that the axis of the prism at right angles and is perpendicular to
VP.Draw the development of the prism showing the shape of the hole in it. (20)

9. A hexagonal prism edge of base 20mm and axis 50mm long rests with its base on HP
such that one of its rectangular faces is parallel to VP.It is cut by a plane perpendicular to
VP , inclined at 45° to HP and passing through the right corner of the top face of the
prism. Draw the sectional top view and develop the lateral surface of the truncated prism.

ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTION, ISOMETRIC PROJECTION , ENGINEERING & SPECIAL CURVES

1. Draw a hyperbola when the distance of the focus from the directrix is 70mm and the
eccentricity is 1.5.Draw the tangent and normal to the curve at a point P distance
50mm from the directrix. (20)

2. The focus of a conic is 50mm from the directrix .Draw the locus of a point ‘P’ moving
in Such a way that its distance from the directrix is equal to its distance from the
focus.Name the curve.Draw a tangent to the curve at a point 60mm from the directrix.

3. Draw the locus of a point P which moves in a plane in such a way that the ratio of its
distances from a fixed point F and a fixed straight line AB is always 2/3.The distance
between the fixed point F and fixed straight line is 50mm.Also draw a tangent and
normal on a point on the locus at a horizontal distance of 55mm from the fixed
straight line. (20)

4. A ring of 40mm diameter rolls over a horizontal table without slipping. A point on the
circumference of the ring is in contact with the table surface in the beginning and after
one complete revolution. Draw the path traced by the point. Also draw a tangent and
normal at any point on the curve. (20)

5. A coir is unwound from a drum of 30mm diameter. Draw the locus of the free end of
the coir for unwinding through an angle of 360°.Draw also a normal and tangent to the
curve. (10)

6. A point B is 30mm above HP and 50mm infront of VP.Draw the projections of the
point and determine the Distance from the reference line. (5)
A point C is on Hp and 30mm behind VP. Another point D is also on HP and 40mm
infront of VP.The distance between their projectors is 50mm.Join their top views and
determine the inclination of this line with XY line. (5)

7. A pentagonal pyramid, base of 30mm and axis 65mm long rests with its base on
HP.An edge of the base is parallel to VP .A section plane perpendicular to VP and
inclined at 45° to HP cuts the pyramid passing through a point on the axis at a distance
of 30mm from the apex. Draw the isometric view of the truncated portion of the
pyramid. (20)

8. Draw the isometric view of a frustum of a hexagonal pyramid when it is resting on its
base on the HP with two sides of the base parallel to the VP.The side of base is 40mm
and top 20mm.The height of the frustum is 55mm . (20)

9. Draw the isometric projection of a sphere of diameter 50mm resting centrally on the
top of a cube of side 60mm. (20)
