30
Technical Manual for U Series Dental Unit

Maintenance:

1) Check the connection of 18 and J19.

2) Power output of J18 and J19 should be DC24V. If the voltage is 0V, check if Fuse F1 blows out. If it

does, replace a fuse of 10A, then check the system and make sure that there is no short circuit

between DC24V and the ground, AC24VL and N. Turn on the power switch; if the fuse does not

blow out this time, and the power output AC24V is also normal, then the hydro-group control board

should be replaced.

² Fault 3: The LED power indicator of the hydro-group board does not light.

Maintenance:

1) Check the power input DC3.3V. If it is abnormal, replace the hydro-group control board.

2) Check the LED indicator. If it has malfunctioned, the system can work well. Replace the LED or

ignore the fault.

² Fault 4: The running indicator of the hydro-group board system does not light.

Maintenance:

1) Check the indicator. If it has malfunctioned, the system can work well. Replace the LED or ignore the

fault.

2) Check the power input DC3.3V. If it is normal, replace the hydro-group control board; if it is
abnormal (much higher than DC3.3V or short circuit), replace the hydro-group control board.

² Fault 5: The operating light does not work.

Maintenance:

1) Check if the on-off switch located at the light head is on.

2) Check the fuse SSD F2.

3) Check the connection of J11 and the voltages. If the voltages are correct, then replace the operating

light (LED light 0V13, switch).

4) Check the output voltage of J11. If it is not correct or it is zero, then check the corresponding

transformer output winding. If it is abnormal, then replace the transformer; otherwise replace

hydro-group control board.

² Fault 6: The vacuum pump, intra-oral camera, dental curing light, or waste separator does not work.

Maintenance:

1) Check the fuse F1.

2) Check the related port voltage AC24V (DC24). If the input voltage is normal, then probably the
related device malfunctions, replace it.

² Fault 7: The heater does not work properly.

31
Technical Manual for U Series Dental Unit

Maintenance:

1) If there’s no heating, first check the output of J13, if it is 24V, replace the heater; if the heating does

not turn off and J14 is always closed, it may also be the problem of the heater, then replace it.

2) If the voltage of J13 is zero, check the fuse F1. If it blows out, replace a 10A fuse.

3) If the fuse is in good condition, check the voltage of the corresponding transformer output winding.
If the voltage is zero, replace the transformer; otherwise, replace the hydro-group control board.

² Fault 8: All or some of the distilled water valve, distilled pressure valve, bowl rinsing solenoid valve,

cup filling solenoid valve, HV suction solenoid valve, and saliva ejector solenoid valve do not work

properly.

Maintenance

1) Check the output voltage of each port. If it is DC24V, then check the connection. If it is good, the

corresponding solenoid valve may have malfunctioned.

2) If the DC24V is abnormal, then check the fuse F1. If it has blown out, replace it with a 10A one, and

then check the system to ensure there’s no short circuit between DC24V and the ground, AC24VL

and N. Turn on the power switch; if the fuse does not blow out this time, and the power output

AC24V is also normal, then the hydro-group control board should be replaced. If there is no AC24V

output, then replace the transformer.

² Fault 9: The pedal does not work or some buttons malfunction.

Maintenance:

1) Check the connection between J31 and J67.

2) Check each switch and button on the pedal.

3) If the above two are ok, then replace the hydro-group control board.

² Fault 10: The intra-oral camera can’t be controlled on-off. And meanwhile, all the dynamic instruments

do not work properly.

Maintenance:

1) Check if the input voltage of pedal AD board is DC3.3V.

2) Check if U1 and U2 on the pedal AD board are at the right place.

3.22 Fault Analysis of U200 Instrument Table Control Board

² Fault 1: The buttons on the dentist’s control panel do not work, while those on the assistant’s control

panel are normal.

Maintenance:

1) Check the connection between J35 and the hydro-group J28; check the connection between J43 and

32
Technical Manual for U Series Dental Unit

the touch-button panel.

2) If the connection is ok, then check if there is +5V power output of the detecting point, if no voltage,

then replace U200 instrument table control board.

3) If there is +5V power input, pick up or pull out any handpiece to hear if the corresponding relay is

working; if working, then replace the dentist’s touch control panel.

² Fault 2: The X-ray film viewer does not light.

Maintenance:

1) Check if the power connector of X-ray viewer is loose.

2) Press the X-ray viewer button to see if there is an output of 12V, if not, replace the instrument table

board; if there is, then replace the viewer.
