Materials provide or uploaded in LR because it is given by the department, these

materials could be our access to quality resources which we may use as our
guide/basis or additional enrichment activities/ worksheets for our learners.

3. Are there other aspects of the material not covered by the tool but still need to
be assessed? Specify which aspects?

Alignment of all activities to the objectives, only activities can be reached by our
leaners.

4. How does this exercise help you in picking the right and appropriate LRs for
your lesson and your learners?
This exercise help teachers to be more knowledgeable on what kind of materials
to be used. In selecting learning resources we must consider content, format,
methodology, evaluation, assessment and the audiences. We should always remember
not all available materials are applicable to our learners.
This also helps teachers apply localization and indigenization of activities depend
on the learners needs and also based on the competencies and standards set.
This exercise will help us go down to the level of our learners since our learners
our children of farm workers. We do always consider our learner’s strength in terms of
their reading, comprehension and numeracy level, also their parent’s educational
background.

LESSON 3
ACTIVITY 2

Explore other non-DepEd LR portals/platforms you can find online. Take note of
the portals in your Study Notebook. Download at least one LR from each portal.
Assess the materials using the same tool and answer the following questions in
your Study Notebook:

1. Based on the Assessment Tool, how does the material from a non-DepEd
Portal compare with the LR from the DepEd Portal?

-The LR Portal is the official site of the DepEd which undergone complete validation to
achieve quality assurance and DepEd Portal is a guideline to assure that the content of
information is accurate and reliable.
-The material from non DepEd Portal exclusively design by a group in a certain school
to address the needs of the learners in that area. While the materials from DepEd Portal
provides access to quality resources from the Regions, Divisions/Cluster and School
level

- The material from Non DepEd portal varies in its structure and content. There is no
one single format that is used.

2. Based on the results of the Assessment Tool, what improvements do the

materials — both from DepEd and Non-DepEd portals — still need?

- Based on our assessment, the Learning Resource materials could have provided
additional activities that promote collaboration among learners and active
engagement and also the graphics or objects that could be more useful to
understand the lesson easier.
- Level of difficulty should be aligned with the grade level of the learners and
assessment/ activities could be varied.
- Give additional stimulating worksheets/activities that help learners to awaken
their interest fairly.

3. How does this exercise help you in picking the right and appropriate LRs for
your lesson and your learners?

- This exercise helps us to pick the right and appropriate LRs for our pupils by
ensuring that the activities and contents of the LR suffice the needs of the
learners and free from issues.
- The assessment served as our guide in picking the right & appropriate learning
material for my learners. Further, it helped us in identifying areas that need to be
improved.
- Assessing the Learning Resource refreshes our knowledge about the parts of the
modules or lesson plans that need to be present or are essential in the lesson
delivery.
