Medical Oxygen Cylinder Filling System User Manual

I General Introduction

1.1 Product information

1.1.1 General Introduction
The medical oxygen cylinder filling system consists of air compressor, gas-water
separation device, refrigerated air dryer, multistage filters, air storage tank, air
moisture monitoring device, oxygen generator, oxygen storage tank, flow meter,
oxygen booster and an intelligent electric control cabinet. The process flow of oxygen
production is that air with a pressure of 6-8 bar is supplied by a high-efficiency screw
air compressor, and clean air after being treated by a gas-water separation device, a
high-efficiency refrigerated air dryer, a multi-stage filter, etc. enters the oxygen
generator, which obtains oxygen through PSA(Pressure, Swing, Adsorption) principle,
and uses this pressure swing adsorption process to separate oxygen and nitrogen, and
the output Oxygen Purity is higher or equal to 90%; with the automatic control
system, the user can conveniently control the start and stop of the equipment in the
central control room, and can monitor various operating parameters of the equipment
in real time. When an abnormal situation occurs in the equipment, the monitor will
send out a prompt signal and perform protective shutdown. In addition, if user selects
online monitoring system, it can also support report printing and automatically print
all kinds of data that the equipment runs every day, eliminating the complicated work
records of operators. Users can remotely monitor the operation of oxygen generating
equipment in the office.
1.1.2 Working principle of the product
Under the condition of normal temperature and low pressure, the oxygen generation
system applies air as the raw material and molecular sieve as the adsorbent and makes
use of the characteristics of the increase of the adsorption capacity of nitrogen
(adsorbent) in air when molecular sieve is pressurized and the decrease of the
adsorption capacity of nitrogen (adsorbent) in air when depressurized to form a rapid
cycle of pressurized adsorption and depressurized desorption. In this way, oxygen and
nitrogen in air can be separated to produce oxygen. However, carbon dioxide, carbon
monoxide, gaseous acid and alkali, and other gaseous oxides in the air are substances

with strong molecular polarity and are difficult to pass through molecular sieves, so
that the Oxygen Purity of the produced oxygen is higher or equal to 90 % (v/v), and
the produced oxygen does not contain harmful components to human body, thus
meeting the requirements of clinical medical oxygen and conforming to YY/t 0298 -
1998 General Technical Specification for Medical Molecular Sieve Oxygen
Production Equipment.

The system has the characteristics of high oxygen output concentration, low operation
cost, simple operation, safe use, etc. The series model of the oxygen generation
system can meet the clinical oxygen demand of medical institutes at all levels.

the booster and the cylinder filling area according to the standard. Before
the unit runs, be sure to ensure that all components and parts assembled
on the booster have been oil and grease removed strictly (anti-oxidant
lubricating grease must be used for the bearings), and all joints and
accessories have been locked securely.
(8) Both the high-pressure oxygen gas and electricity have danger! Do not
conduct overhaul or maintenance and service on the unit before you
make sure that the power supply has been cut off and the compressed gas
in the entire booster system has been emptied.
(9) During the unit running, don’t loosen or disassemble any pipeline fitting

compressor.

5.4.5 Replace oxygen booster consumables

Maintenance and service methods of several easily worn parts (bear in
mind: new parts installed on the machine shall be ensured that they have
already been de-greased strictly):
(1) Oxygen Booster Gas valve
Whether the gas valve can work normally or not directly affects the
displacement volume of the compressor and inter-stage pressure, it is one
of the key components of the compressor. Kerosene leak test method is
often adopted to check valve quality with focus on check of valve seat and
seating face of valve plate for damage, only the leakage in the form of
drops is considered as acceptable, the excellently manufactured gas valve
basically has no leakage. The structural reference diagram is shown as
below:

(3) Oxygen Booster Piston Ring and Guide Ring

Piston ring and guide ring are the main dynamic seal parts of the machine
and also easily worn parts, after the machine has been running for a certain
time, they must be inspected or replaced; otherwise there will appear such
phenomenon as insufficient displacement, slow rise of pressure, bigger
machine noise, etc. Regarding the installation location of piston rings and
guide rings and structure of each stage, refer to the structural diagram of
the basic booster.
(4) Oxygen Booster Solenoid valve
Generally dust or microparticles will enter the solenoid valve, resulting in
the phenomenon of untight closing or seizure, it can work normally just by
opening it and clearing away the dirt. In addition, if the power supply does
not conform to the specifications of the solenoid valve coil, the coil is live
at no-load or the nut that fixes the coil becomes loose, this can cause coil
burnout, after the coil is replaced, it can work normally. After the solenoid
valve is energized, the permissible temperature of the coil is 80℃.
(5) Oxygen Booster Solenoid valve
Safety valve functions as a safety protection, and will not be started in
normal case; when the safety valve for a stage is opened, the operator shall
check the cause, whether it is false action of the safety valve itself or fault
of the machine. The safety valve shall be calibrated at least once every
year.
(6) Oxygen Booster Suction filter
The filter core of the suction filter shall be cleaned with gasoline every
1000 hours, if the working environment is harsh, it is recommended to
clean the filter core every 500 hours, so as to ensure normal running and
service life of the compressor.

30
Medical Oxygen Cylinder Filling System User Manual

(7) Oxygen Booster Filter

31
Medical Oxygen Cylinder Filling System User Manual

This filter is the filter for 1st, 2nd and 3rd stages with higher precision, it is
considered to remove the filter every 500 hours of operation, clean the
filter core once with clean gasoline, if the working environment is harsh, it
can be considered to clean it once every 200 hours so as to ensure normal
operation and service life of the compressor.
(8) Oxygen Booster Miscellaneous
The user shall often clean up the dust on the machine, and add grease to the
bearing on time (use anti-oxidant lubricating grease for the basic
compressor). The motor and electric components shall be maintained
regularly according to relevant provisions.
