THE UNSEEN ENEMY

The world was once fine and free. We're living life to the fullest like there's no tomorrow.
People are free to do almost everything, anywhere, anytime and anyway the wanted. Then one
spring came – an enemy arrived. It was an enemy nobody expected; an enemy fast-spreading
like a wildfire consuming anyone who let his guard down. We only have two options: stay in our
home for our safety, or step out of our homes and put everyone around us at risk.

The people then stopped doing what they used to do. Instead of doing task in their offices,
workers ended up doing tasks at home; student were also challenged by the sudden shift from
face-to-face classes into online classes; going outside is limited; meeting your friends and
unnecessary gatherings were not allowed; usage of gadgets and the internet were maximized;
and, we were all forced to adjust into new normal ways of doing things.

Be careful! An unseen enemy is hiding in the corners waiting to devour you. We never wanted it
to be like this. Most of us expected it to end after a couple of months fighting it; however, it has
been staying longer than we expected. It has been evolving from one variant to another in fast
pace. However, just like what Trump (2020) said, “It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a
miracle, it will disappear"; we all wished that this enemy will end in no time. Just like how it was
unseen until now, someday, it will disappear – and we will be happy sharing stories in the
future about how we fought and won against an unseen enemy.
