M.V Prantik Sarwar Main Air Compressor Overhaul Plan Air Compressor Location: Top Floor of E/R, behind the AC compressor plant, alongside Service Air Reservoir. Suspected Problems: Air Compressor (P) can’t build sufficient pressure in due time. Possible problems 1. Air cooler Dirty. 2. 1* stage Delivery valve/2™ stage suction valve/2" stage delivery valve leakage. Dirty valves due to carbon deposition. 3. Incorrect bumping clearance. Air Compressor (S), when running, found traces of Lubrication oil in system. Possible problems — 1. Piston ring clearance increased, blow-past occurs. 2. Excessive lubrication in valves. 3. Air Drier efficiency reduces. Procedure: . Electrically isolation of the system, Breaker shut off. . Air outlet valve closing. . Air Suction filter removal, cleaning. ._ Intercooler and Aftercooler removal, cleaning. . 1* stage head assembly removal, valve removal, checking for damage and cleaning, Bumping clearance checking and correcting. . 1* stage piston removal, checking for damage and piston ring correct clearances. "4 stage valve removal, checking for damage and cleaning. 2™ stage piston removal, checking for damage and piston ring correct clearances. . Sump cover opening, draining of oil and cleaning, checking bearing condition. 10. Compressor driving motor condition and alignment check, bearing condition check.
