Teaching Philosophy

I taught engineering mathematics for about 13 years and taught post graduate mathematics for about 13
years and taught B.Sc. mathematics for two years. As a part of my teaching pedagogy I focus on
synchronizing theoretical concepts with real time examples. I believe this will greatly enhance the
student understanding about the application of concepts. During my tenure, I have noticed that many of
our students do not have basic logical interpretational skills while solving the problems. Apart from
this, I also find that students do not regularly exercise problems. Keeping this in mind, I have been
motivating them by referring to the ancient Greek and Indian geometrical mathematicians, and real time
examples, their models of research along with their bibliography. Such an introduction inspires them to
the topics they learn and triggers interest in them. After such introductory sessions, I would take them to
advanced concepts and applications in an even-paced manner.

In view of the above mentioned, I have created a diagram that depicts my teaching methodology:

I also encourage students inculcate research as a part of their studies at an early age consequently which
enhances their analytical abilities and paving a way for their career prospects.

As a teacher, I aim at making a significant contribution towards the betterment of society, the country
where I teach and ultimately my target is to produce quality citizens to make the globe a better place to
live in.
