What happens when Technology and Humanity cross?

Technology is the result of humanity’s curiosity and its undying want of accumulating
knowledge in different aspects of the world. Since the invention of technology, the mankind has
been continuously seeking ways to improve the already existing technologies and to develop
new ones, furtherly progressing from a primitive to a modern world. In today’s time, technology
has already proven itself to be advantageous to humans. Some of these benefits are evident in
one’s daily life. Communication has never been quick and easy until now wherein you could
already send a message to a person miles away in one split second. This is made possible by
gadgets such as mobile phones, tablets, and laptops, applications made for messaging,
emailing, and calling, and the internet connection that connects us all virtually. This benefit
everyone as communication is very important in our daily lives. Another benefit technology
would give is the aid it gives into daily tasks. In just a push of a button, a washing machine
would already wash clothes and even dry them. In order to keep cool or warm, there is no need
to manually fan or light a fire as air conditioners and heaters are already considered essential.
Going from one place to another, no matter how far, becomes an easy task as cars, trains,
boats, and planes take over the transportation system. These are just the tip of the iceberg
when it comes to the benefits technology has.

Just like other objects, technology also has its two sides, the good and the bad. Although
it has numerous benefits, technology can also be abused and be misused, whether intentionally
or unintentionally. As technology advances, more inventions are being made. Some of these are
weapons that are being produced for the sole purpose of being used for war. They’ve become
so powerful that there are weapons that can be used to annihilate a mass of people or even a
country. Technology can also be used to manipulate and scam people, steal identities and
private information, and even cause harm to people. Cyberbullying and other online crimes are
also some of the negativities technology could bring. These are all possible through technology.
But remember, technology is still just a tool. Humans behind these technologies still have
control over what kind of purpose will technologies serve. Humanity is responsible for the
effects of technology in the world. It could always go two ways, technology could benefit
mankind or destroy them.
