Package contents

This package contains: 1 PAT file(Photoshop pattern), 2 ATN file(Photoshop

action) and this PDF Help File.

Installation notes

Step 1
Install the action prerequisite: the toybricks.pat is found in the package and should be
installed first.

There are several options to install the files and one of them is going to Edit Menu >
Preset Manager and select the file to Load it.

Step 2
Install the action file: file TOYBRICKS-PUZZLE-300dpi-by-PSDDUDE.atn and
TOYBRICKS-PUZZLE-by-PSDDUDE.atn - the main action files of this package

Open the Actions Tab (Window Menu>Actions). Click on the button from the Top right
corner and choose Load Actions to load the ATN file.

Step 3

If everything went smoothly, when you open the actions panel (by going in Photoshop
to Window>Actions) in this panel you will find the following sets of actions:
1. TOYBRICKS PUZZLE by PSDDUDE set containing 2 actions that can be used
both for text/shape/raster.
2. TOYBRICKS PUZZLE(300 dpi) by PSDDUDE set containing 8 actions that

can be used both for text/shape/raster. These actions can be used for
printing.

How to use this action

Open a new document and create a new layer with transparent background.

Place the vector shape, text or raster in this layer. You don't have to rasterize the
layer content before you play the action. But you have to make sure that the layer containing
your text/shape is the only layer available, so if you have for example a background layer
please delete it. If you have multiple layers, group them into a smart object.

Choose the first action “Step 1 - create toybrick effect” available in the
TOYBRICKS PUZZLE by PSDDUDE set and click Play. See the Customization section to
find out how you can obtain the best results.

Customization

So, open a new document and create a new layer with transparent background. Place
the icon, vector shape, text inside that layer.

Choose the first action “Step 1 - create toybrick effect” and click Play!

The result layer “toybricks puzzle by psddude” has little customization to be made.
For example you can change all the layer styles, except the Pattern Overlay. You can also
modify the colors using the Paint Bucket Tool(that way you can reduce the number of
color transition and color tones).

Choose the “Step 2 - add puzzle pieces (play again)” . You will receive this
message: “Paint puzzle piece and resume play!” ; all you have to do is to paint random
lines or any other shapes and Resume Play!

The result is the “puzzle pieces” layer, a smart object that you can customize. You
can resize, rotate and move. You can open the smart object by double clicking on its
thumbnail. Inside you can change all the layer styles, except the Pattern Overlay. Save and
close the smart object to see the result.

IMPORTANT: The “Step 2 - add puzzle pieces (play again)” can be played over
and over again. The result will be added in a separate layer so that you can rotate and
move the puzzle pieces in different directions.
