“RJ” stands for Registered Jack and 45 refers to a simple interface standard.
It has eight pins and contains eight separate wires
Commonly used for Ethernet networking.
Looks quite similar to telephone jack but wider.
Ethernet cables have RJ45 connector at each end therefore they are also known as RJ45
cables.
Two wiring schemes–T568A and T568B–are used to terminate the twisted-pair cable onto
the connector interface.
