BECAUSE OF OBSOLESCENCE

1. PLANNING INFORMATION

A. Effectivity
This Vendor Service Bulletin (VSB) is applicable to the following Power Supply:

LED Beacon Light Power Supply, P/N 8ES455967-01, AMDT None

B. Concurrent Requirements
None.

C. Reason
This VSB has been issued to inform the operators about the introduction of a new Diode on the PC
Board Sealing Assy, caused by obsolescence.

D. Description
Due to the new Diode, the P/N of the PC Board Sealing Assy changes:

PC Board Sealing Assy 9MK415403-01 9MK415403-03

In addition, the length of the Pan Head Screw that fixes Plate Assy P/N 9XB412985-00 was
changed from 0.31” to 0.44”:

With the installation of the new PC Board Sealing Assy and the new Pan Head Screw, the AMDT of
the LED Beacon Light Power Supply changes from None to A:

Serial Number 5190458.

E. Compliance
Optional – Service Bulletin for convenience or option.

Only necessary if the PC Board Sealing Assy requires replacement.

F. Approval
The modification procedures described in this SB are reviewed and technically accepted by Airbus
to apply to the Airbus fleet affected.

This SB does not contain any change information that revises the equipment definition covered by
Airbus approved modifications.

G. Manpower
It is assumed that the LED Beacon Light Power Supply is removed from Aircraft.

In case the PC Board Sealing Assy fails within the standard warranty period acc. to SSC, the
modification will be done free of charge by the above listed MRO. In all other cases, the
modification will be charged to the customer.

Work done by the Operator:

The Operator can perform the VSB according to the Accomplishment Instructions in Section 3 of
this VSB.

The parts required for accomplishment of this VSB may be procured separately from Goodrich
Lighting Systems.

3. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Manuals listed in section 1 of this VSB provide applicable disassembly, cleaning, inspection,
reassembly and testing instructions and shall be referred to during the accomplishment of the
following operations.

Disassembly of the LED Beacon Light Power Supply

(1) Remove the Screws (1-10) and (1-15) from Housing Assy (1-80).

(2) Remove the Housing Cover (1-5) from Housing Assy (1-80).

(3) Remove the Screws (1-25), Pan Head Screws (1-30) and the Disk Springs (1-35) from the
Housing Assy (1-80).

(4) Remove EMC Fixing Plate Assy (1-20) from the Housing Assy (1-80).

(5) Remove the Pan Head Screws (1-45).

(6) Remove the Plate Assy (1-40).

(7) Remove the Pan Head Screws (1-55).

(8) Remove the Plate Assy (1-50).

(9) Remove the Pan Head Screws (1-65) and the Disk Springs (1-70) from the Housing Assy
(1-80).

(10) Remove the PC Board Assy (1-60) from the Housing Assy (1-80).

(11) Remove the Cable Ties (1-75) from the PC Board Assy (1-60).

Assembly of the LED Beacon Light Power Supply

(1) Put the Cable Ties (1-75) to the receptacle wires of the new PC Board Assy
(9MK415403-03).

(2) Put the new PC Board Assy (9MK415403-03) into the Housing Assy (1-80). Install the Pan
Head Screws (1-65) and the Disk Springs (1 70) in PC Board Assy (9MK415403-03).
Secure the Pan Head Screws (1-65) with glue DELO-ML5327.

(3) Put the Plate Assy (1-50) into the Housing Assy (1-80). Install the new Pan Head Screws
(NAS8100U7) in Plate Assy (1-50).

(4) Put the Plate Assy (1-40) into the Housing Assy (1-80). Install the new Pan Head Screws
(NAS8100U7) in the Plate Assy (1-40).

(5) Apply the sealant Dow Corning 3140 RTV to the adjustable Screw of Potentiometer on the
new PC Board Assy (9MK415403-03). Refer toFigure 2.

(6) Put the EMC Fixing Plate Assy (1-20) into the Housing Assy (1-80). Install the Screws
(1-25), Pan Head Screws (1-30) and Disk Spring (1-70) in the EMC Fixing Plate Assy
(1-20).

(7) Put the Housing Cover (1-5) on the Housing Assy (1-80). Install the Screws (1-10) and
(1-15) in the Housing Cover (1-5). Secure the Screws (1-10) with glue DELO-ML5327.

Re-identify the LED Beacon Light Power Supply. Update the Amendment status on the label with a
waterproof pen. Refer to the following table for the applicable Amendment status:
