In my point of view, police report writing

is important for a number of reasons,

mainly because of the vast number of suspects that police officers deal with on a daily
basis. A good police report serves as a great tool to determine innocence or guilt and
can make or break a case, depending on how detailed or accurate it is or is not.

Police officers generate a police report to start an investigation. This report

may be used as the basis for further investigation, or it may be used by the
prosecutor's office when a district attorney charges a suspect with the crime.

A police writing is highly helpful to law enforcement because it is the backbone in

the organization and it will testify that the police officers job is effective. It serves as an
original documents which is generally recognize by the court in any court hearings. A
police officers credibility and reliability on a given job assignment is defined by his/her
police report writings. In addition, it is important to keep the records carefully to serve
as future basis.
