GUIDELINES ON THE CELEBRATION OF WEDDINGS IN THE MANILA

CATHEDRAL UNDER THE GENERAL COMMUNITY QUARANTINE (GCQ):

The Manila Cathedral abides by the policies and protocols implemented by the
Philippine government, especially the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), the City of
Manila, and the Intramuros Administration with regard to the General Community
Quarantine. It is clear to us that under the GCQ, religious services are allowed only at a
limited capacity.

Effective July 15, 2020, the Manila Cathedral will strictly implement these guidelines for
the celebration of weddings. These are meant to assure you and your guests that
everyone will be safe from contamination of COVID-19.

1. Only a maximum of 50 persons will be allowed to enter the Manila Cathedral for
the wedding. The number already includes the couple themselves, their family,
relative, and guests, as well their suppliers (wedding coordinators,
photographers, and videographers).

2. The Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Community Quarantine in

the Philippines issued by the IATF requires those who are below 21 years old
and who are 60 years old and above to remain in their residences at all times
because they are considered high risk in contracting the virus. We appeal to the
sound discretion of the couple in asking those within these age brackets to attend
their wedding.

3. The couple has the responsibility of ensuring that they and their guests

a. are not diagnosed or suspected of having COVID-19;

b. do not manifest symptoms of COVID-19;
c. have not been in close contact with anyone who has been diagnosed or
suspected of having COVID-19;
d. have not traveled or have been in close contact with someone who has
traveled outside the country (e.g. returning OFW) or outside their locality
14 days before the wedding;
e. are not immunocompromised.

4. The couple or their authorized representative must submit a list of the names of
their guests with their contact details (cellphone number and/or email address)
for contact tracing. Only those in the list will be allowed to enter the Manila
Cathedral on the day of the wedding. The list must be submitted by email to the
Manila Cathedral office a day before the wedding at the latest. The couple must
also identify one (1) representative authorized to make changes or additions to
the list of guests.

5. Body temperature will be checked upon entry at the Manila Cathedral.

6. Physical distancing must be strictly observed.

7. Guests must stay only at the marked seats and must avoid moving from one seat
to another.

8. Guests must wear facemasks at all times, even during the Mass. They may
remove the facemask just before the start of the wedding march and must put it
back as they reach their seats. They may also remove it during the picture
taking.

9. There could still be a bridal march, but only the bride and the groom and their
parents will be allowed to march together. Other members of entourage must
march individually.

10. There will be no offertory.

11. Communion will be given by hand. Those who will receive communion must
observe physical distancing while in queue and must sanitize their hands just
before receiving communion.

12. During the picture taking, physical distancing should also be observed. Big
group pictures must be avoided.

13. The couple may prefer to celebrate the Rite of Marriage Outside Mass.

14. Only one organist and one singer will be allowed at the choir loft.

15. At the end of every wedding, the pews will be disinfected.
