INTRODUCTION
The number of road accidents and related deaths has been rising dramatically
in our country. In India where the number of people barely fit the available
space, a shove here and a crash there is a common sight on roads. The lack
of knowledge is not the issue here, but the attitude towards roads.
ZIXA’s Traffic Rules Awareness Programme, in association with the Kerala
Police, has designed this Awareness and Training Programme to bring to light,
the responsibility of a road user.

This Programme focuses on the ethics and responsibility of a road user. As

lawyers, your knowledge is your superpower. This training programme will
equip you with the basic etiquette and knowledge to save yourself and your
countrymen from our disastrous roads.

Sri O.A. Babu has been voluntarily working in the field of Road Safety and
Traffic Awareness for 9 years. As a part of Traffic awareness, he has led over
4200 classes for about 15 lakh people all over Kerala. He has been featured in
various Newspapers and publications for his dedicated work in the field. He
has also received about 32 awards and recognitions which include the State
PTA Award (2018).
KEY POINTS COVERED
• Traffic Rules have a basic system to be followed. They include Traffic
Signals, Rules and Regulations, Violations and Penalties.
• Reaction time and understanding the effect of drunk or drugged driving is
important. How does this affect the driver and a fellow pedestrian? The
knowledge of this is imperative.
• Emergency Trauma Care skills is of utmost importance. So is the
knowledge about police investigation after an accident and the court
procedures that follow.
• The Road belongs to vehicles, pedestrians and what not. Some ethics and
etiquette are to be followed to ensure road safety.

CURRICULUM AGENDA
This training Programme doesn’t employ an overload of theory classes. It
helps cultivate Practical Skills that one needs tomaintain road safety. The
Training Programme that spans over 14 days includes:
a) 3 live sessions d) Interactive sessions
b) Optional talks from experts e) Quiz Competitions
c) Assignments f) Surprise gifts for the Quiz Competition Winners

Assignments:
Students will be divided into groups before the beginning of the assignments.
• Students will be given reflective questions to ponder about related to the
science behind roads.
• Emergency Trauma Care knowledge will be tested and honed
• They will be able to make a project proposal to provide safe and risk-free
working environment for Traffic Personnel.

OUTCOME
a) The participants will receive a Practical Learning System Certificate (in
association with the Kerala Police)
b) The internship will help you become a more aware and cultured road user
c) The participants will be able to provide or assist in providing emergency
trauma care to accident victims
d) As Law Graduates, participants will become aware of the Road Accident
Investigation Process and following Court Procedures.
e) The Group to submit an exceptional project will receive assistance in
implementing the project with the Kerala Police.
