Education is rapidly changing, despite the fact that it is education that should initiate changes in the

world, it turns out the opposite, education gasping and holding on to the prickly side runs after the
rushing car of progress. Of course, I'm talking about the most ordinary education, we do not take
into account the top general educational institutions of all levels because of the low number of
them.

According to an established long-standing tradition, adopted from the Soviet Union, the most used
today is the combined lesson. The teacher, just like forty years ago, is in the role of a lecturer.
Standing at the pulpit or in front of the blackboard, a wise educated teacher for years broadcasts the
truths carved in stone, only he is a truly true source of knowledge, and all these "Internet" - from the
evil one. The system is conservative, moreover, aggressive to innovations.

Just as traditional religion protects its mysteries, so modern education by hook or by crook protects
the established stages of the lesson, classroom and extracurricular activities. One of these "dogmas"
is homework, which has remained unchanged for several decades, which is mandatory for everyone.
Neither the average teacher nor the same parent I cannot imagine a successful learning process
without homework. New "apostles" who speak of a shift in educational emphasis are perceived as
"antichrists." However, we forget that any development, social or personal, begins with leaving the
comfort zone. Yes, it is convenient for us to teach in the old way; upon leaving school, we get an
educated graduate who is well versed in the modern world. Not bad, but that's all. There is a
proverb: the best - the enemy of the good does not work. Everything about education should be the
best, flexible and constantly evolving. It is impossible to get cheaper here, this is our future. In a
conversation with one programmer, I asked where they teach his profession, he said that teaching
programming is a very difficult process, since technologies change every month, and for an
educational program, planning for several years ahead is necessary. Of course, there are a lot of
universities that train PC operators, but this whole program without parallel self-education is greatly
depreciated. Surprisingly, all my acquaintances system administrators are self-taught, they receive
higher education according to the profile, already in the profession, and they do this not for
knowledge, but for the possibility of career growth, which ensures the presence of a "crust".

So, homework. In pedagogy, homework has the following functions: Practicing the material passed
in the lesson New material (before, new material was not given so often "at home", today this
happens more and more often). Deepening knowledge on the topic covered. Stimulation of the
assimilation of new material for lagging students. The modern educational standard takes the
teacher away from the department and changes the role of the mentor to the accompanying one.
What is the real purpose of homework? Working out already passed material, deepening or learning
new? If the combined lesson has outlived its usefulness, then the combined (variable) homework is
only gaining momentum. In other words, modern homework has all three named goals. In modern
conditions, children of different levels study in an ordinary class. The situation worsened after the
closure of special institutions for children with lagging behind in order to socialize the latter. Working
according to the old system, the teacher is forced to make always difficult and always losing
decisions: to pull the laggards to the average level or work to complicate the material for those who
“overtake” the program. Working out the material passed in the lesson. This is what our teachers did
in our lessons and what the vast majority of today's teachers do. However, it is also something that
contradicts the federal and state standards, this is something in which there is no research
component, but only a mechanical development of the skill of solving problems, learning dates,
poems, formulas. Again, the student repeats the information received from the teacher in the lesson
with a small amount of effort. If the moment of search did take place, then to an insignificant extent,
since the teacher is limited by the time frame for passing the material. The entire main volume of
the topic must be completed in class. At home, the student should be able to satisfy, ideally, the
interest that has arisen and expand the scope of the topic covered at his own request. New material.
There are several situations when a student independently learns new material at home. It can be an
individual project work, and a report, and research activities, and a creative variable assignment.
Situations in which a student learns new material included in the compulsory school curriculum
without the help of a teacher should come to naught, otherwise why would a teacher be needed
then. In the classroom, any subject student, in addition to teaching goals, should remember that its
functionality includes not only the presentation of new material, but also the development of skills
for forming a request, the ability to search, analyze, process information and form it into a final
product (project). In other words, the student, after completing a topic, develops metasubject skills,
which should perfectly satisfy the interest that has arisen in the lesson in the material learned at
home in self-study.

It is important to remember that the knowledge gained at home, in this case, is additional,
expanding the topic already covered in the lesson. Deepening knowledge on the topic covered. In
this case, we need to talk about extensive topics for which several hours of the curriculum are
allocated, then the entire learning process is not one-type: there is a classical perception of the
material, and analysis, and research. The disadvantages of this method include the lack of versatility.
As mentioned earlier, we live in conditions of a multi-level demand, both highly motivated and
absolutely demotivated students are taught in the classes. There is no need to talk about deepening
knowledge in cases where the base has not been mastered. In other words, this method is only
effective with motivated students. Judging by the trend, in the future all educational institutions will
use this type of homework. Stimulation of the assimilation of new material for lagging students.
There are several ways to stimulate knowledge among lagging students: individual work, the
patronage of the strong over the weak, an individual curriculum, home teaching. Less common, but
no less effective, is a method that can be conventionally called a "step forward". It is assumed that
the teacher knows the level of his students well, assumes which of his wards may have problems
when studying a new topic and, based on this, he gives the study of this new topic only to these
students in small volumes until the whole class has passed this topic (for one two lessons). In this
case, constant control is necessary, a clear definition of the shortcomings of the work performed,
however, you should not demand complete assimilation of the material, based only on homework.
Homework is educational in nature to help the class learn the same material better. The essence of
this method is that familiar information is more easily perceived by a lagging student.
