Teacher Guide & Answers
Note to Teacher: Read each question out loud to your students and have each student
complete the worksheet independently. For questions 5 A) and 6, you can have students draw
their answers, answer orally, or write their answers depending on your students’ progress. If you
have them write their answers, you may want to write the word(s) on the board for them to
copy. Question 7 is a class discussion question.
a) Henry
b) Mr. Lopez
c) Henry’s father

5. A) Note to Teacher: See note at the top of the first page.
Henry solves his problem by putting his red homework folder in which place?
Suggested answer: Students’ pictures may vary but should depict Henry putting three
holes in a red folder and/or putting the folder into a big blue three ring binder.
Suggested answer: Answers may vary and should be supported by the passage.
Class Discussion Question: Explain how looking at his big blue binder helps Henry solve his
problem.
Suggested answer: Answers may vary but students should explain that when Henry
sees his big blue binger, he most likely remembers that he always has his blue binder with
him, and he realizes that his binder can hold folders with three holes. His idea, then, is to
put three holes in his homework folder so that he can put it in his blue binder. That way,
he does not need to remember to take home his homework folder, he just needs to do
what he has always done, which is keep his blue binder with him.
