Affirmative Action is key for correcting the effects of education

Disadvantages. Students from low-income and minority students are at a

disadvantage when it comes to SATs, resulting in lack of diversity in
the nations four-year colleges.

Standardized testing has become a tenant of the American higher

education system that are said to marginalize people, causing a
Greater disadvantage for certain students. It has been discovered by
the College Board that SAT scores are directly connected with
Socioeconomic class, as demonstrated through family income.  SATs have
been proven to show an adverse impact on poor and minority applicants
Than traditional measures of academic achievement.  Those raised in
poverty are proven to have lower achievement scores overall due to
limited opportunities.

Studies have shown that test scores of African American and

Minorities’ students trail those of white students. Some studies have
shown that the cause for low testing scores for African American and
Minorities is due to cultural and economic biases. The gaps base on
race and socioeconomic status suggest a differential in learning
Experiences during high school.  Data from the College Board has
proven that wealthier Americans from more educated families tend to do
far better than African American Hispanics, as do white and Asian
Americans.

Average scores for the class of 2014 and related demographic

information show that students whose families earn within the highest
income bracket of $200.000 a year average a combined score of 1,714
while students from lower income brackets earning under $20,000 a year
Average a combined score of 1,326.  The test is considered to measure
student’s backgrounds and access to resources like expensive test prep
courses, students whose family can provide a better education and more
Test prep do have an advantage on SATs.  Data from the College Board
has also shown that students who were able to take the PSAT score an
average of 1,612 while students that do not take the PSAT have an
Average score of 1,409.

Affirmative action is colleges have helped African Americans and

minorities to gain many rights to obtain a higher education at top
colleges and a remedy for past discrimination and promotes diversity
in our society. It has also helped educational institutions evaluate
Candidates equally based on their qualifications. Recent opponents to
affirmative action have attached these policies even indicating that
Affirmative action is a racial bias to the white Americans.  This has
all lead to the US Supreme Court honoring bans in several states of
racial preferences in university admissions.  It is a fact that more
African Americans and Hispanics are going to college, but are ending
Up in two and four-year open enrollment colleges.  Most of these
colleges are open-enrollments schools with public service with
relatively few resources.

White Americans are more likely to succeed because of better college

choices with the result of affirmative action bans while African
Americans and Hispanics are funneling.
