1. Policy
1.1. TTH has an official tumor board which is a group of doctors and other health
care providers with different specialties that meets regularly at the hospital to
discuss cancer cases and share knowledge. The board’s goal is to determine the
best possible cancer treatment and care plan for an individual patient.
Committee has decided to meet on every Thursday at 8:00 am in boardroom.
1.2. Roles and responsibility of the board

1.2.1. To meet on case to case basis at the hospital to discuss cancer cases
(new cases, suspicious cases, relapse or not response to treatment
cases) and share knowledge
1.2.2. To appoint chairperson for Tumor Board meeting
1.2.3. To appoint Administrative Coordinator of the Tumor Board who
collects clinician’s requests and coordinate with chairperson >24 hours
before meeting to select needed participants (on behalf of Tumor
board and presents to the board for review and schedule meetings.)
1.2.4. Recommend additional testing on tissue sample
1.2.5. Encourage Primary doctor to repeat a biopsy if not enough tissue
was taken, and explain how, from a pathologist's point of view, the
new biopsy sample should be obtained.
1.2.6. Share what additional blood tests, imaging scans, or other biopsies
can help with making a diagnosis or planning treatment.
1.2.7. Help the treating team decide what additional treatment patient
may or may not need after a surgery, such as radiation therapy or
chemotherapy
2. Constitution of Board
2.1. The Chairperson(s) shall have the authority to invite any non-member to attend
the meeting, if it is deemed fit in relation to any matter being or to be
deliberated by the Committee.
2.1.1. Chairperson- Acting Medical Director or nominated person
2.1.2. Senior Manager –QIRM (Administrative Coordinator)
2.1.3. Pathologist
2.1.4. Surgeon-General Surgery
2.1.5. Physician-Internal Medicine
2.1.6. Radiologist
