WHAT HAPPENS AFTER WE DIE

DEATH IS AN APPOINTMENT
16Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being
renewed day by day. 17For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory
that far outweighs them all. 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what
is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18

 Death is a reality, separation of the body

is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send
Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
25“But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while
Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all
this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you
cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire—something I did not command, nor did
it enter my mind. 32So beware, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when people will no longer call it
