Job Description – Legal Associate / Counsel

Summary
 
AlbaCore Capital Group is looking for an organized, detail-oriented and dependable individual
to join its legal team in London.
 
The individual will be keen to join a tight knit legal team (currently made up of a Senior Legal
Counsel and Legal Counsel), working on all elements of the legal workstreams and frameworks
across the business. The role will provide a unique opportunity to work with all business
functions of a growing European investment manager; thus providing an incredibly varied
workflow.
 
AlbaCore is focused on European corporate credit markets, providing bespoke private solutions
and opportunistic investments in the public High Yield Bond and Loan markets. Every job at

Responsibilities
 Provide assistance on fund formation and ongoing investor servicing workstreams,
including fund and product structuring and launches, investor onboarding, and ongoing
investor compliance
 Provide assistance with loan trading workstreams, including the review of loan trading
documentation, overseeing external tax advice, and working with the compliance,
operations and investment teams to coordinate efficient processes
 Provide assistance with investment transaction workstreams, in particular working on
bespoke private transactions
 Review of commercial contracts, including negotiating with suppliers and counterparties
 Legal research on relevant new regulations, laws and themes affecting the market and

 Coordinating among various internal departments and third parties to manage projects
and escalate appropriately
 Overseeing and building proper procedures for document execution, file management,
and the use of new technology across the legal team
 
Skills and Preferred Qualifications
 Excellent organisational skills, with attention to detail. Analytical and independent
thinking / problem-solving. A high degree of accuracy is required
 A 2:1 or higher from a top tier university
 At least 1-2 years PQE or paralegal experience at a top-tier law firm
 Experience of leverage finance or corporate transactions
 Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
 Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
 Good cultural fit into a team orientated and collegiate team and firm
 Friendly professional demeanour and ability to communicate and coordinate with a
diverse range of people in a team oriented environment
