Preparation of Milk Test Sample
Procedure
First Action 1925
Bring test sample to ca 20°C, mix until homogeneous by
pouring into clean receptacle and back repeatedly, and promptly
weigh or measure test portion. If lumps of cream do not disperse,
warm test sample in water bath to ca 38°C and keep mixing until
homogeneous, using policeman, if necessary, to reincorporate
any cream adhering to container or stopper. Where practical and
fat remains dispersed, cool warmed test samples to ca 20°C
before transferring test portion.
When Bab cock method, 989.04D(a) (see 33.2.27), is used,
ad just both fresh and com pos ite test sam ples to ca 38°C, mix
un til ho mo ge neous as above, and im me di ately pipet por tions
into test bot tles.
